Jia Ming's Funeral on July 25

July 25, a friday...very misty and one could actually feel the mist falling...like drizzling rain.... we had the formal officiating of the Correction Cadet Unit in my school but Fong and I planned to go to Jia Ming's funeral at 10 later that day. Some of my class students also said that hey wanted to go....
So i told the principal and she said ok. I also told the bus driver and he had agreed.
At 9.30 Fong looked for me and some of my students were waiting too..but in the middle of the hu-ha...the principal said she wanted to see me and then she told me that Muslim students are not allowed to attend a Chinese funeral.....What a bunch on rubbish...it was not even a funeral..it was just a funeral procession through Titi town..my students were greatly disappointed....they said it was the bus driver who refused to send them and told the principal that the Muslim students were going.
I cannot believe it that there are still some stuck in the mud freak who are afraid of so many things in life out there and they are giving out stupid opinion that affect other people......i left on my own after that....went to Titi...
I waited in the town for the procession to reach the point where i parked my car and then i joined in with most of my Chinese students in the procession. I have forgotten how he looked like when alive and it sadden me to see his blown up picture strapped to the front of the hearse...van actually...it was a sad day...where all the old people sitting by the roadside coffee shops looking on...at one so young who had passed on...it drizzled a little during the procession...even the day was sad....and the sky was overcast...as if the sky was mourning with those who loved him....
At the end of the procession...we walked away from the van and i took a final glimpse at the van before it headed towards the graveyard...it was a final farewell..all the friends took one last look and turned and walked back towards the starting point.....May he rest in peace...
