30/07 - Saturday

Chin was discharged from hospital today....
I didn't go to school for the professional development session...
Had to pick Chin up and bought him breakfast...

He was discharged at 12 pm and we went for lunch....
I think he couldn't wait to go home...after
the time he spent in the hospital...
It wasn't a really friendly kinda setting...
CMH...
really old and spooky like...
and i don't think i could sleep a wink if i were there....
On the last night he was there...he had
to sleep alone in the big ward...
all the other patients had already been discharged
but i guess the sleeping pill helped him tho....

It was good to have him home...
Tho grumpy as he was....
but at least...he was being grumpy at home...

29 July....Thursday...

Chin was still in the hospital on Thursday...
and he was still as grumpy....
but he seemed ok already...
though his blodd count fell to 120 from 130 the day before...
He was pretty bored and felt uncomfortable....
The patient next to him had already been discharged from the hospital.
Anyway....i went for a haircut before i went visit him...
he felt like eating Chicken Burger from McDonald...
So...off AGem and i went to buy the burger....
I told AGem the day before that there must be
a blessing in disguise as to why of all the hospitals we went to..
he ended up in the spooky CMH and not his first
choice KPJ.

Seemed that CMH is closer to Mantin and his mother
could visit him easily every morning
and brought him food.
SO next time...whatever happens in whatever manner,
i will not question it anymore...
since there is a reason to why things happen the way it does.

Anyway...Chin was hoping to be discharged soon....
I pity him tho....
kinda lonely in the hospital...
He was on IV drip all the time...
and did not really have the appetite to eat anything...
Again...the effect of the dengue viral attack...
We let at about 11 pm and drove back....
Huhhuhu.....the thought of driving to school the next day
was not really appealing....

Walk...walk...walk baby...

Yesterday, we sent our car to be fixed....
Chin's student rammed into the back part in Bukit Chedang
during CNY but we only had time to fix it yesterday...
since we didn't have a car, we used the motorcycle..

At noon, we went to Jusco to have a look the the laptop since
we are thinkig of getting another one...
but the model was so popular...the shop does not have any stock left...

So after browsing shoes for a while we went back...
but somehow at the traffic light near S2, chin suddenly
took a detour to check out the plant nursery behind Jusco.
The owner wasn't there since we wanted to check out the plants
for our small garden.
When we wanted to go back, we noticed that the tyre was flat...
argh...we totally could not ride the bike...
so we had to walk...
he pushing the bike and i walking with the helmet...
luckily Petronas was not far...
but after refilling the ttyre...
we hopped on the bike and went but...
it didn't get us very far....
so i had to walk again to the next Petronas....
the one after the traffic light to City Park..
after another refilling, we hopped on again
(just like Amazing Race according to Mr Chin)
but this time it only took us across the road...
and from there we had to walk....
he atleast propelled by the bike...
me, i had to walk...
but it was okay...
it was not as tired as i thought it would be...
hahaha...most prolly because i danced as exercise
so it was okay...we laughed a lot...
and we met our neighbour on their way out...
we just mentioned his name...speak of the devil....

Anyway...our Silver Prince looks brand new now...
all sprayed up and fixed...
Goodie...

New Dining Chair set...yay...

Our neighbour opposite informed us
that there's a 3 day warehouse sale in Senawang area
and that it is worth visiting...
she purchased 3 items at RM185 yesterday....
so today we planned an excursion there together
since they are looking for a bed for their daughter...

The furniture warehouse is quite difficult to find...
since it is located in the industrial area...
There were some big lorries loading the furniture when we arrived...
We presumed that these are the people
from the furniture shop who
got the furniture cheap and sold
them at higher price...

The first thing we noticed were the dining chairs...
just nice for our white dining table...
we dislike our black dining chairs...
so we had been looking for white wooden type for
so long now...
Ikea sells them at RM120 which is beyond our budget...
So this is simply perfect...
at RM50....
of good quality wood....
so we take 6...
then we saw a white bedside cabinet at RM50 too...
so we bought that too...
and finally...
a pretty console table....wood colour....at RM120...
this is perfection....
so we made our purchase...
and luckily our neighbour drove his
hilux so we could fit everything in....

Once at home, we put away the black chairs and
replace them with the white ones....
Woooohoooo.....
so....so....so....perfect....ah....
i simply love it...
and they're cheap....
a bonus...

Catsitting...

We brought the kitten to school today....
he was in UJ...
hahaha..since he is too young too be left alone...
we just brought him to school...
he seemed okay...
playing with my students...
and then slept on my lap....
Chin picked me up at 3 and said that his students told him
that the kitten had not passed motion for
nearly a week now...
so we brought him to the Vet Clinic in KK...
We met the vet assistant...En Wira who
is a really friendly person...
he said he has 30 cats...
and he relayed an interesting piece of information to us...
a cat when it is sick and the owner does not
show him tender loving care
will have a suicidal tendencies....
Wakakakakaka...
but we told him the problem and he diagnosed the kitten...
and he sold us half a packet of milk...
cost RM4...
The kitten seems quite happy...
sleeps a lot...
maybe because it is a baby cat
after all...
and well...we played with it...
forced it to eat and drink milk...
well....he is cute...
my colleagues were smitten by him
and the vet assistant also said that he is comel...
but we're stil at conflict with its name...
haih...

Love at first sight for Chin....

There's a new addition to US now...
a small beautiful greyish kitten...
I've been badgering Chin for a kitten so often but he never gave in...
he always has his reasons for not adopting one...
But today....
he fell in love hard....for a kitten...
His students have been feeding and caring for t
he kitten for almost 2 weeks now...
since its mother abandoned it...
he noticed the kitten since last week
but only today did he set his eyes on it...
and it was love at first sight for him...
(tho in actual truth, i am his love at first sight)
that he actually agreed to adopt the kitten...
we tried to feed it milk just now...
Chin bought a syringe that maybe can function
like its mother's milk gland...
but seems like he refuses to drink from it...
slowly and more patience i guess...
Ngaaa......
ahahahah....
he wants to name it Kucai...
and i want to name it Matahari....
Hmmm....
Kucai sounds like my student that he dislike...
for his strange attitude...
so i dont think that name will stick...
but the kitten is lovely....
lovely...lovely....lovely....
Oh bliss...a companion at last....

Another GC today....

Chin had been nervously waiting for the result i guess
after i gave him the call about the GC offer
yesterday....
So...he was told that there was a letter in JPNS but
the school was not sure as to what letter...
so on the way back yesterday...we stopped
by JPNS but the person in charged was not in...
so he had to contain his suspense for another night....

I was really hoping and crossing all the fingers and toes
i got that the letter would be
an offer for GC for him too....
I know that it means so much more for him
as he was the one who encouraged me to apply last year
and it would be such a blow to him if he didn't get it....

So....this morning....when he called me...i was busy looking for
the trial English paper from SBP that i misplaced...
so i didn't hear the phone...
but a few minutes later i got the sms...
"I got GC too....Yes..."
was the sms...

I called him up immediately to congratulate him...
and he said...
"I feel the pressure already...excited yes...but pressure is more...
i know what you mean when TN Hj said it comes with
a responsibility and that you have understood it perfectly before
accepting."

Haih.....thank God....what a blessing...
Congrats Nyanya....you deserve it...

RCIA outreach programme to Orang Asli Settlement - Belihoi

On the 1st of May...I joined Chin's RCIA outreach
programme to Kampung Belihoi near Mantin...
It felt like balik kampung...
Tessa joined us for the programme...
After breakfast at 10 am we drove out to the junction to Belihoi
and waited for the rest of the English RCIA group to come...
James came first so we followed him to the foot hill of
the village to park our cars...
Then we hiked up the hill into the village - it was a
5 mins hike...
We saw MIDIN...hahahaha..a rare thing here..
of course there is Midin here just that not in abundance
like in Sarawak.
We we greeted by the friendly orang asli and invited into
their Rumah Besar - a place of worship.
The head for the Christian Communityis called Langkap...
They look so much like the native Sarawakian...
so Tess and I fit in perfectly....
Hahaha...people might even think that we are orang asli...
The houses were built like those found in the Bidayuh
villages in Sarawak....yeap...pretty similar...
We had a brief praise and worship and then fellowship
with the orang asli...
Tess and I chatted with some of them...
apparently there are not many of them who go to school...
James goes there every Friday afternoon to give
free tuition but he said so far the response
was pretty luke warm...
most prolly because the children sleep in the afternoon...
Anyway...there were many youngsters but
they seem to be not going to school...
they look like schooling age anyway...teenagers...
Chin and I decide that if there is better response to the
tuition thingy, we will volunteer to give
them free tuition every Friday afternoon...
English and mathematics...
Anyway...there is 1 sarawakian staying with in Belihoi...
the funny thing is he is from my town...
of all the place to meet my town mate...
He works in Singapore street...
I think he loves it there because it reminds him of Sarawak so much..
The people, the village and also the friendliness...
It reminds me of the Orang Asli children in SMUJ...
I guess the same situation may happen to them...
Living far away from any schools so they
have to travel out to go to school...
In this case for those from Belihoi...SMK Mantin..
We left after the fellowship...at about 2pm..
Chin went back to Mantin and Tess and i went to town...
It was an eye opener though...
the trip...
We should be grateful for all the things that we have...
I should thank God everyday for all the things around me...
Bless them all...

Digging up old blogs...

I actually started blogging in Friendster but later
i found that it was limited only
to those who have frenster...which sucks actually...
so...i discover this site....but i guess there are other sites which are much better...
so...thing is i had not visited my frenster acc. on a
a regular basis...
when i did today...i dug up my 2nd blog entry...hahaha...
These are the 2 that especially love....

How are we supposed to react???^_^(April 2006)

How are we supposed to react…say…when someone

call us to inform that us that we have won something which we totally do not expect? Do we:

  1. Jump up and shout, “Yeahhhhoooooo….I won….I won…I won…thank you…yesh….”
And kiss whoever is beside u.
  2. Come again? Are you sure it’s my name?
  3. Cry and choke and lost for words because u are too happy.
  4. Graciously say thank you and ask what is the prize that u have
    won.

How would I react if I received one of those
calls? Any guesses….??Is it A, B, C or D? Well….let me tell you….none of the above…this was how I reacted.

The hand phone rang….and the conversation went
like this:

Yours truly: What a strange number….(press
a button)…Hello..

The voice: Hello…may I speak to Martina
Bong please?

Yours truly: Yes…speaking…

The voice: Hello Martina. I call to inform
you that you have won the Pringles King Kong SMS
competition.

Yours truly: Yes…right…

The voice: Do you still keep the Pringles can?

Yours truly: No…I threw it away already…it
was so long ago…does it matter?

The voice: It’s ok. I’ll get back to you
again about the can.

Yours truly: Ok…bye then.

Hung up and wondered…oh yea…I forgot to ask
what did I win…aargh…silly me….nevermind…he said he would call back.

A few days later….RING…..

Yours truly: Hello….

The voice: Hello…Martina?

Yours truly: (thinking…oh it’s him)…Yes…

The voice: I’m calling about the sms
competition…it’s ok if you don’t have the can.

Yours truly: Ok…oh…may I know what do I win?

The voice: A trip to New Zealand for two. Now I want to ask you, who is the other person that you
want to bring?

Yours truly: (A string of names…ran through
her mind…then it registered..) Right….Ok …so I

won…er….Mr
Chin Kok Voon…yeah…it spells…C…H…I…N…K…O…K…V…O…O…N…

IC no…bla..bla..bal…yeah….my
IC no…ok…bla..bla..bla…

The voice: Ok..we’ll be in touch again at
the end of this month…

Yours truly: Ok…thanks.

Hung up…and wondered…NZ..??To be happy or not
to be happy? To jump and shout or not? To tell or not to tell? Such dilemma..and
sat there quietly pondering over the reaction.

Now..the question is…is that a NORMAL reaction?

When I told the person I’m bringing with
me, the reaction went:

Yours truly: Hey…pek…I just got a phone
call saying I won a trip to NZ.

Him: What…true or not…u said NZ? I think it’s
a hoax….(and stared at me)

Yours truly: I don’t know. He said he’ll
inform me at the end of the month.

Him: Where’s the letter?

Yours truly: It was a phone call. No
letter.

Him: What competition? Did you take part?

Yours truly: Yeah..pringles…last year..

Him: Where is it?

Yours truly: Your mum finished it…but yeah I
did…

Him: No proof..how to believe?

Yours truly: Well…just wait and see la…

Now…my second question: Is that Normal?

How are we
supposed to react? How would you react? Well….when everything was confirmed…finally….we
still did not jump and shout…we still wonder if that is the rite way to react…OR
rather…HOW TO REACT….Ended up we just GRINNED STUPIDLY AT EACH OTHER….and said….HEHEHE….CAN
YOU BELIEVE IT?….WE ARE GOING NZ….

Sigh….gone were the days when people trusted each other and the phone calls you received were not prank calls….gone were the days when people used to leave their doors open wide to welcome friends to their home…gone were the days when we could simply…..TRUST….sigh….* head shaking from side to side…*

Truth be told…when IT happens to you…you
simply don’t know what’s the appropriate way to react……hahahhahahahaaaa…..

Old frenship mends up...(19/11/07)

2 nites ago, out of the blue my phone rang and the caller ID was not displayed. So i thought it was my friend who preferred to have his number undisclosed. The conversation went as such:
Me: Hello….?
Fren: …….
Me: Hello…? (cough)…Yes?
Fren: Bong!!! APa polah ko?
Me: *Stumped*….(Thimking to self - this friend does not speak Sarawakian Malay - and a few seconds later - thought went - could it be who i thought it is?) Sapa tok?
Fren: Kau di sine? Kau sik tau sapa tok ka?
Me: errr…Gabe? Gabe? Is that u?
Fren: Yeah it’s me…listen, do you have a house no? i’ll call u….
Me: Yeah…sure….

And just like that, in the middle of the nite, a friendship is mended….

He is an old friend of mine, who has gone estranged because of place and also a stupid argument. We have know each other for let see….8 or 9 years now…just that out of the 8 or 9, we were not on talking term for 3 or 4 of those…hehehe…

See….he’s a brother of my bestest of friend…by bestest i mean we have been friends for like 17 or 18 years now…and i got to know her brother later..and we just clicked…like brother and sister…..
A few years after being good friends, one day we argued over the sms….something about cleo magazine which i have forgotten now….and since then we just sort of stopped talking….
My friend used to make fun of us and point out how childish we were…but i said i’m ok…if only he’s talking to me….
Then 3 years later, i saw him in the kampung for a brief moment but we just said hi casually…no laughter etc….
And out of no where, he called me from Australia….hahahhaa….
I met his sister about a week ago and asked about him and i guess…over the long phone call with his sister, she must have mentioned me which prompted him to calll…
Boy, am i glad that the friendship is mended for good….for i really miss him…hahha…not that i want to admit it…..
This is a lucky situation because most of the time, broken friendships do not mend so easily and usually, it’ll still be awkward after the mending but for us…i think it’ll be ok….
You see, i’m growing older and my friends are trickling away….as we grow older, the number of our good friends can be counted with our 10 fingers and to lose one of those is like losing a part of our body….some ppl may not agree as they say they accumulate more friends as they grow older….but what i meant here is one who will stick through thick and thin with us….so my friends that i have now are my precious gems….

Well, old friend, if you happen to read this…..i want you to know that BOY AM I GLAD TO HAVE FOUND YOU AGAIN….you know who u are…

A weekend to remember...

Holy weekhas come and now gone....
but it has been a memorable ones for the two of us....
It has never been so special for me and Chin before but
this year...
it truly is a special week for us...
So many things have happened but so little time to write about
it...
The moment that Chin has been anticipating for a nearly a year
is finally here...at last...and well...
we both feel warm and glowing about it....
hahahaha....
I'll just describe it under its proper subtitle...

Holy Thursday/Maundy Thursday
9/04/09
i have not attended mass for holy thursday for so long...
but this year we made it a point to attend...
it is part of the RCIA programme for the catechumens...
Chin has a place booked for him but i have to fight my way in for
a good seat...
We arrived early on Thursday so i got a good seat up front near
where the catechumens sat...
It was a solemn service...remembering the last supper
and the night before Jesus was betrayed...
Chin for the first time experienced Holy Thursday service...
and i guess it touched him...
It did touch me...

Good Friday (The Lord's Passion)
10/04/09
It rained heavily just like last year...just before the service...
We were a bit late...arriving about half an hour
before...
soaking wet because of the rain...
Church was full by that time....i couldn't find a good seat
but Chin got his seat...
I squeezed in between a family and they were kind
enough to make room for me...
Good Friday service has always been a solemn service...
the altar was stripped bare of all cloth...
the cross was covered with purple cloth...
There was the veneration of the cross where
everyone went to kiss the cross at the end of the service...
then, there was the procession of the blessed sacrament to the
place of reposition....(i think)...
After the service...we decided to stay for the Tenebrae..
It was the first time ever for us to witness this...
so i changed place to sit at the front row to have
a good look...

Tenebrae service
Tenebrae is a latin word for 'shadow' or 'darkness'and the purpose
of the service is to recreate the emotional aspects of the passion story...
It is to reenact the betraya, abandonment and agony of the events...

A wooden cross was placed in front of the altar and
on the altar, there was 7 candles, the middle one
being the biggest candle..
around the cross there were bowls with nails and beside
the bowls were hammers...
The church was in darkness, illuminated only by the candles...
and the service started with the reading
from the bible...followed by a period of silence...
Then, the priest went to extinguish the candle after
each session of meditation and prayer...
After all the 6 candles were extinguished,
the priest went up to the cross and drove a nail into it...
It is an act of confession...
each nail symbolises our sinful act that put Christ on the cross...
Then, the congregation were invited to put a nail into the cross...
Chin and i went up to drive a nail into the cross too...
Finally...the last candle was extinguished and
the congregation departed silently...
It was really a new experience for us...and having the chance
to watch close up...
it was really a memorable and touching experience...

Easter vigil
11/04/09
This is the night that we had been waiting for...
Chin is so excited...
he would finally be part of the church now...
living a life guided by Christ and God...

we arrived early and Chin went in to get a good seat for me...
he got the seat next to his row...
so i could come out easily to take photos of his
baptism...
He looked dashing in his white silk shirt and black pants...
and i think the most good looking one in the
crowd of catechumens...hehehe..
The service started with the service of the light...
and after that the Easter Vigil mass...
The priest brought the Easter candle in and everyone lit
a candle from the Easter candle...
It was a sigh really...
the church illuminated by candles...
Then, it was the baptism...
The catechumens were called to the altar....
with their sponsor....Chin's sponsor is
Anderson, Helen's husband....
The holy water was blessed...the catechumens were asked
some questions by the priest and they had
to answer 'I do'
Then, the baptism....
Chin walked up to the fountain of holy water and
the priest poured the holy water on his
forehead...
It was a moment to behold...
It was the happiest moment in his life...
as he described it...'I was instantly awaken...
like the holy spirit entered me...'
Then, right after, it was his confirmation...their forehead
were anointed with the oil...
Oh...at the end of it...tears welled in my eyes
as he came down from the altar...
with the others...and he hugged me...
His first Easter....the beginning of all
other Easter celebration in his life...
Then, it was his first holy communion...where we ate the
bread of life...

Everybody was so excited after the mass...
wishing each other Happy Easter...
Along the journey of RCIA...
we have gotten to know some people who are
very helpful...and kind...
and these are the people who have helped Chin to understand and
reflect upon his journey in search of the light...
This is the Easter celebration that we will
never forget...

HAPPY FIRST EASTER TO YOU CHIN...
The name you have chosen when you were young
is now truly your own name...
and not just a name that you can change when you grow tired of...
I guess i should say...
HAPPY FIRST EASTER TO YOU DESMOND...

Thy will be done....

Good friday is a public holiday in Sarawak but not
so over here in the Peninsular...
I was tempted to take the day off since
i have no class on Friday but i decided not to
as my school is very busy at the moment
preparing for the visit of the MB on Monday, April 13th...

Anyway, this year's holy week is a special week for the both of
us as Chin will complete his RCIA and be baptised
on Easter vigil....and for the first time
he experience the four blessed days...and participating in the
holy events....and most importantly
understand the meaning of those
events as explian by his RCIA facilitators...
He also has gotten to know some people from the church and
over the 9 - 10 months of attending RCIA class...
has formed a bond with them...
and the journey has been very rewarding
spiritually for him...
He attended the RCIA retreat last weekend and it was
a spiritually rewarding journey of
getting to know God and Christ....
and it has helped him to reflect on a lot of things too...
concerning his relationship with God and other people around him...

Tonight's Holy Thursday mass is a very solemn mass
which made me reflect upon things that i have
and have not done in my life...

It helps me to understand the conflict that Christ went through
in fulfilling God's will...that he was torn between
his own will and God's will..
and in the end he obeyed and was willing to suffer for his people...

Many a time, i only think about my own self...
about what i want....and not what God wants me to do...
It makes me realised that everytime i -
talk bad about people, have ill-thoughts about someone,
feel envious, listen to other saying bad things about
someone else, surrender to temptation, forget to do something,
or slow in completing my duties (among others),
i crucify Christ again and again on the cross....

Haih...i pray that i will be a stronger individual
in resisting temptation and have the
courage to accept and obey God's will....
the faith to believe....and the willingness to sacrifice for others...
and i come to the conclusion that....
I'm still a long....long....long...long....long.....long.....looooooonnnngggg
way away from that....

The rite of the call of the elect...on the 1st of March

The date on the pic is wrong...

1st of March...the first Sunday of Lent...
Chin and I went to St John Cathedral in KL to attend
the Rite of the call of the Elect...
Chin is one of the cathecumens to attend this rite....
It is one of the many rites that he has to attend before the baptism...
I have not been to St John for so many years...
of course in 2007 we went to St John Institution or
Sekolah Menengah St John...
but i'm talking about the church here...
It was a hot sunday afternoon...
but the church was full...
overflowed rather with the cathecumens from the other churches
in the Klang Valley...

This event marked the 9th month chin had attended CIA class...
and in a month time....
he will be officially an Christian...
It is a journey that he has willingly undertaken...
though at the beginning he decided not to convert...
I respected his decision then...
and i had never pushed him to embrace christianity...
but thank god....after we moved
to seremban he willingly asked about the RCIA class
and attended it every Tuesday for the past 9 months...
Congratulations MR CHIN...
I am so proud of you....
Muaksssss......

Mr Chin....

Hot night and 2 fools...

The weather has been unbearably hot lately....
There was a thunderstorm yesterday evening but as thunderstorm tends
to do...it lasted only a half an hour...
It was enough to cool the atmosphere for a while but by midnight
it was very hot again...

When it was time for bed...
we decided to try the bedroom downstairs as it faces the back of
the house...
and the winds seemed to be coming from that side...
I was actually implying the purple room but Chin said that
there is no bed in that room...
so we took the pillows and blankets and trooped downstairs
to sleep...
After a few minutes, Chin complained that it was hot...
but we were willing to give it a try...
I couldn't feel comfy because the bed was slightly smaller...
a queen size instead of our king sized bed...
i felt that Chin was invading my territory...and when
i turned to my right side....
i nearly fell off the bed...
but fell asleep we did...
a rather uncomfortable sleep...
At 3 something...Chin woke up...and i felt movement...so i woke
up from my uneasy sleep too...
the bed was hot...and since it was a small bed...
i couldn't move much...
and the heat from my body couldn't be
absorbed by the mattress...
the spot where i slept felt like burning...
argghh....
so i woke up.....
It was then that we decided that it would be more comfortable
to sleep on our 10 inches thick king sized Dunlopillo mattress
upstairs...
so...with groggily,
we trooped upstairs and promptly fell asleep once
our heads hit the pillow...
And woke up at 10 am...

we came to the conclusion that we actually missed our
super comfy mattress....
What a fool....

Boy...am i glad that we decided to spend a lot of money on
a mattress instead of settling on one that might cause backache...

Birthday celebration..

Yesterday was Chin's birthday...
1st February...
We didn't do anything special...
I did surprise him...
by doing 2 weeks of ironing for him...
and he knows that this is special because
i HATE ironing....

So....it was really a pleasant surprise for him...
I did persuade him to go to
secret Recipe to buy
our favourite Chocolate Indulgence...
but since the cake was not in stock...
we got ourselves 2 different slices instead...
Raspberry Cheese and Classic Cheese cake...

so we took some photos...of our crazy little cake blowing event...
and also a video shot of our
out of tune singing...

the classic cheese is visible...

You want to get some flowers?

My heart went...

Makan hati berulam jantung....

Can one die of the ultimate frustration? Tis the question.....
This is a belated entry of what happened last Sunday...
First and foremost, God created man with one mouth and two ears so that he can talk less and listen more....
But what has man done with God's gift? He disregards the ears and use the mouth more....thus creating a situation call the ultimate frustration.
A very good example begins as thus:
There was once a man called Mr Chin. God had been gracious enough to bless him with 2 ears and a mouth in the hope that he would listen better and talk less. But alas, the nature of man was thus that they prefer to talk more and loud. Mr Chin's greatest fault was exactly that - loud and more. One day he decided to buy a house in an uptown resident known as Seremban 2. Preparation were made soon after the keys to the house were passed to him. He did some renovation, chose suitable colours for the rooms and equipped the house with other necessities such as lights, fans and others.
Finally, it was time to choose the grille. You see, the house was renovated in such a way that it had beautiful windows that let plenty of sunlight into the house. So, it was of utmost importance that the house had good grilles. His wife was a little fussy about grille designs because she did not want to live in a jail-like house.
So, Mr Chin invited the grille man to come and showed some designs for the house. The man came but he recommended a jail-like pattern which Mr Chin's wife instantly took a dislike to. She of course objected to the design. The couple discussed at length and his wife agreed to a design with an arch for the back windows. Then, they vigorously searched on the internet for a simple but eye-catching design - one with plant elements. Finally, they decided that the bamboo design was the most suitable.
So, it was confirmed that the grille design for the back part of the house was the one with the arch and the bamboo design was for the front. But as luck - and I say luck here ladies and gentlemen, because it was luck that brought the couple together in the first place - would have it, Mr Chin did not use the most important gift of all which was the ears to listen carefully. He went to order the jail-like design instead and when the couple went to supervise the installation - to his wife's HORROR - it was not the one that she like. But alas, once ordered, they could not reject it as their fund had really run pretty low. So his wife had to live in a situation which is best described with the Malay proverb - MAKAN HATI BERULAM JANTUNG.

* She is too angry and frustrated that she has to tell the story in the third person...the end.

New Year and new house....

We went to visit the house the first thing in the morning. I have not seen the house after it was painted 2 weeks ago. Chin said the colours were very beautifully combined especially the purple room. I knew that that would be my favourite room. So on that day, we went to inspect he house. The kitchen cabinet is almost done though the tiles at the side came off. The window cabinet and the upstairs cabinet were half way done. I did't relly like the yellow colour at the staircase. i think that it was a bit dark...like odd sort of yellow...one that is know as Kuning tahi...hahah...but at the top of the staircase with ample light, the yellow actually look nice. The room that i like most is the room downstair. The yellow combined with orange is a perfect match.....really soothing. Overall, the colours are not bad....one can grow to like it....Nga Tzai, Makiei and a friend came to see the house on that day. They showed mix reaction. Nga Tzai quite like it i think though i told him that if he were to stay as a guest, the purple room awaits him.
Now, there is the problem of choosing the right grille. The grille man came but we couldn't decide on any of the old fashion grille. I was quite frustrated because Chin kept pushing me to make decision when i refuse to do so....i know that the right design will turn up...we just have to be patient but he feared that people might break into the house to steal things. The 3 empty houses next door were broken into.
So we decided to go back and search on the net for the perfect grille for the house...
It's not easy to make decision because the grille is for life...once its on, its on...taking it off will not be economical...
We are not rich afterall...
