Something HOT...HOT...HOT...SEXY.....psssst....

Everyone should watch this...
pretty hot...
makes me hyperventilate...
the movement...

Another one....

Meeting an old coursemate by chance

At mid morning today, Kak Lela,
the PK ko-ko called me to her
office...apparently someone wanted to see me...
so off i went....and
as i entered the outer office...i saw her
chatting with someone....and
when i stepped in to take a look...
Lo and behold....someone i knew was sitting there...
Mr Chelvandran...my ex-coursemate....
and this year is exactly 10 years since i last saw him...
and guess what...
He's stauing in Mantin, the same taman
with my brother-in-law...
Hah!! Fate....it has to be 10 years...
the whole of last year i did not meet anyone
and suddenly this year i met Chong Voon Fui and then,
now Chelvam...
Anyway...think he's doing his PhD in UM, something
to do with courseware evaluation....
and i don't think he's teaching now...
he's more like a consultant...
anyway...surprise..surprise...
I have yet to meet Devaraj...
tho i know where he's teaching....
maybe one of these day...
bam.....i'll run into him...

Around Malacca on a hot Sunday...

We decided to check out Klebang Beach resort on our way to Malacca...
Seems like a decent resort...so we decided
to stay there for my school family day
instead of in Puri Hotel as we planned
earlier...tho i think staying in Puri would be quite interesting...
considering that it is a Baba Nyonya house before..

Anyway, after Klebang we went to town centre...
obviously..it was a bad day to go Malacca...
seems like the whole of M'sia is on holiday and
everybody had Malacca in mind...
the jam was horrible...
the heat was withering....
the crowd was suffocating....
man...people every where...
mostly poured into the 3 shopping malls -
Dataran Pahlawan, Mahkota Parade and Carrefour..
It's the aircondition...on a hot day...

There was nothing particularly interesting
tho i think people in Malacca suddenly turn very fashionable...
There was a sort of fashion show...more towards
flora and fauna kind...pretty interesting...

When the heat had dispersed and the day had finally cooled down,
we went to Jonker Walk...
Here is like crowded with visitors...
there is one shop selling dessert that
get people queuing up for hours....
Saw a lot of interesting stuff...
more like a decent Petaling Street...
but with a lot of art galleries...
if you are an art fan..this is the place
to get something unique..

I bought myself a choker...
an interesting green choker...for
a damn low 15RM...
and it comes with a pair of earrings...
and if you get 2 sets...
it's only RM25....
I got RM25 for a choker in the Curve Bazaar...
without earrings mind you...
and here in Malacca....it is just....cheap...
i can get another blue one for RM10 only...
maybe i should get it this weekend...
for Tess or...myself...
hahahahaa...

My Kewl RM15 choker

My expensive RM25 choker
We finally went to Newton foodcourt for late
dinner but here too could not escape the crowd...
we had Otak2 which was my favourite food...
anyway..it was an interestingly hot day....
and i got myself 2 pairs of
extremely comfy flip flop...
most prolly for kids...but who cares...
it is darn comfy....

Simpang Gelami's family day..

Saturday saw Chin and i pack our things into
the car to go to KM Chalet in Kuala Linggi
for Chin's school family day...

What is a family day?
Schools in the rural areas here love Family Day
where all the teachers will pack off
their family members for a night stay at a hotel
where they are supposedly to have
fun and games and dinner...
they too are expected to organise
the games and take care of their young
children at the same time and
HAVE FUN...

My question is...when you have
a two month old baby...
how can you have fun?
But i, of course , digress...

Anyway...annual dinner at a good hotel
ballroom is unheard of...
they prefer barbeque dinner
whereby the food is not so excellent...
you get my meaning...?

Back to our trip...
we took the old road...to PD to have late lunch
and then...to Kuala Linggi..
KM Chalet is situated in
a Malay village...
with by the seaside of course...
the beach is yellow sand...like the one
in Esplanade Miri...
and the sea water too, i suspect,
is non too clean...
so, well....

The room or chalet...if you insist... is pretty small...
smaller than a master bedroom in a low cost
terrace house...
you can barely move around...whatever
2 feet left of the space between the wall and the bed
is cramped with make up table, bookshelf for TV
and a place to hang towel...
The bathroom is pretty small...with no sink
and hot shower...

and you wonder how much do they have to pay
for this meagre setting?
RM100 mind you...
it was a true rip off...if i might say so...
and the person incharged of booking
this place did not realise that they were
being given a shoddy deal..
hm...

The dinner wasn't anything to shout about too...
more like to quietly...whispered about...
very usual food...one that you can get from
your school canteen...
and the setting of the hall is more
like attending a kenduri kahwin or
something alike...

haih...and you expect the families to have fun...
Fun my foot....
I couldn't sleep the whole nigh because the pillow
was too hard...i might have sprained my neck...

We had games the next day....
and according to Chin
the teacher in charged of games nearly
cracked her head thinking of fun games
to entertain everyone....

Chin won the 'making up your partner' game...
now...i can look forward to someone
else doing my make up for me
if i so lazy to do it myself....

Punjabi suit and a blouse

I bought 4 Punjabi suit and a blouse
from the Diwali Bazaar.
Of the 4, one is for my sis..
Tess didn't buy anything.
Zairol bought an Indian Chorta
or Indian outfit for man. He also bought an interesting pants.

The price of a suit is very cheap at this bazaar...
The cheapest i ever got was
when i was in Little India in Penang...
Little India Klang is very expensive...

The designs are really very pretty too...
and for the price i got...
i think it's worth it...

The 3 outfit for myself...

I like this one because of the daring combination
of blue and bright pink or fucshia..

I love the white colour and the bright outstanding
coulour of the flower designs...

The orange outfit is rather unique i think...

This is the blouse that i got rather cheaply too..
Pretty sexy and womanly i think...

This is the pants that Zairol got cheaply..
I regreted it that i didn't buy for myself...
It's rather unique...
The sides are actually not sewn at all...
just open slit...
It's pareo like pants...
I think i look good in it...
On Zairol...
he needs 4 months at the gym to look good in it...
Hahahahahahaaa...

Meeting up old friends..

Yesterday...Tess and I went to Diwali bazaar in
Jalan Tun Sambathan - KL Central...
and we had a great time...
We met up with an old friend from
UPM time...a great friend....Zairol...
Tess and i haven't met him for
like almost 10 years now...

Phew....how time flies....
so yesterday..he picked me up from Serdang
Commuter station and we went to pick
Tess up in Lestari Puchong...

It was like unbelievable...
and my mind still could not grasp
the whole fact....
hahahahahaa...

Ol if u read this...i still am trying to digest
everything in my mind....

I can't get used to people calling him Dr Zairol....
ROFL....
since i got to know him way back before he is that...
and to think that he introduces himself as
The State Director....
and people call him Director...

He is still as he was before...
and you wouldn't believe that he is
in his position now...
if you see him hanging out with us...
I couldn't...
because yoou see...he is a really good old friend...
one of the Bestest after Teresa...

By luck...Haren was here on a Karate-do seminar...
and the irony of the whole situation is...
we met up only after many years...
and in KL for Godsake...
Harem is from Tess' village...
and she also hasn't met him
for many years...

Haih.....it was agood feeling...that...
finally meeting up old friends....
and had a good chat and laugh...

Barnaby-ing night....

The TGI Friday really is a TGIF...
I am truly TGIF....
It's Friday....the most awaited day
of the week....
BECAUSE...
it is the Barnaby-ing night...

I get to watch Midsommer Murders
on Hallmark Channel...
Arrrgh...such pleasure.....
i actually feel giddy....

I won't...under ANY circunstances...
go out on a Friday night....
if i can help it...
i'd rather stay put and watch Hallmark channel at 9.

I'd do my weekly laundry....
then, sweep and mop the floor...
dust and wipe the tables, benches, windows...watever...
water the plant and crystal salt...and by 8.00 pm
must take my bath...and by 9...
i'll be nice and comfy in my sofa to watch
Barnaby....

Huh...nothing beats
relaxing in a tidy and squeeky clean house...
watching your favourite detective series...
Ciao for now...

After all, i do have a date with
Detective Chief Inspector Tom Barnaby...

The BEST roti canai in the WHOLE wide world...

Well...the title of the blog tells you so...
and i am not exaggerating...
it is the BESTEST ever....
in the whole wide world....
SERIOUSLY...

The shop in KK

Coming from a fan of roti canai....
this is a true confession....
It only can be found in
KUALA KLAWANG, JELEBU.

The roti canai man

I am totally addicted...
The first time Chin and i ordered it,
we were skeptical....
like you now reading my blog...
thinking....considering....contemplating....
musing...that....
hmmm...she must be kidding...right...

The crispy and aromatic roti canai...

Anyway....the man served it with dhal condiment...
dhal is chickpeas...
and ...
throughout the whole of my Roti canai (paratha bread) eating life...
i only take it with curry gravy...
chicken curry, beef curry or fish curry...
chickpeas - not my favourite...never ever...

But the Indian man said....i only have this...
so i said...never mind...
this will be the last time i eat your roti canai...
(mumbling to myself of course)

Then...we took a bite....
the aroma was the first thing that hit us...
never before roti canai has been so aromatic...
crispy fresh from the iron flat grill pan...
crispy, fragile layers...so finely..separated...
not like a blob...all layers stick together type...
the smell is enough to make you feel....heady...
each layer is well-toasted...
to perfection....

Then, the chickpeas condiment is another story...
it has the best fragrant smell...
well toasted before cooked to perfection...
mix with a bit of sambal (condiment eaten with nasi lemak)...
combine this with the roti...
you'll get hook right away....
and you'll definitely agree...
IT IS THE BEST ROTI CANAI EVER
IN THE WHOLE WIDE WORLD...

I have told a few friends and relatives...
mainly Chin's relatives...
who are famous with tasting good food...
about this...
These are a couple of their reactions:

Chin's eldest sister and her son:
We happened to go to KK so she
could experience our daily morning trip..
she was in luck because the Indian man
does not regularly open his stall...
we said she MUST taste the roti canai...
her reaction:
I'm so full..we just had breakfast...
anyway...what is so nice about roti canai...
you tasted one...you tasted all...

Finally she gave in and reluctantly...she agreed to try a wee bit..
the man prepared..an unfresh one...
one that has been left exposed to the air after toasting...
there was no condiment...but she said
eating with sugar would do...
One bite...and she was grabbing for more..
and chin asked for a fresh one...
at the end of it she said...
Wow...i could have missed the best thing ever in my life...
luckily the two of u insisted that
we try it...

My Indian colleagues Reaction?
They: You mean the stall in the Chinese shop...
Me: Yeah...have you tried...it's the best in the whole of Msia...
no...the whole world...
They: Yes, we had..during bulan ramadhan...
you are absolutely right...
the whole wide world...we make roti canai...
and eat roti canai...but this is definitely the best...
Col. 1: He must have put milk in the batter....if not
it won't be so fragrant....

So, well...if you really want to taste it...go to Kuala Klawang and look
for a Chinese coffee shop called Nam Theng...
If you're lucky and if the Indian guy is early...
you'll taste his roti canai...
he only opens till mid morning or maybe noon...

In search of Mysteries...

Currently I am into mystery books...
sort of like Mystery Woman...
I started from Agatha Christie...
and then scouring the bookstore for other mystery writers
that can live up to Agatha...

I have most of Ms Christie's writing....
I have always been a great fan of hers...
most prolly because her language is so...English..
and the quirky Poirot and his side kick
Dr Watson...
and of course Miss Marple series...and later..
My Quinn...and the rest of her books...
It's not easy to find her books...
Thank God for Borders and MPH and Times...
They have an orderly section for MYSTERY...

Then...i stumbled upon Martha Grimes and her
creation, Richard Jury of the Scotland Yard...
she has her own style which is rather humorous
most of the time...
and Richard Jury's side kick is another
interesting character...one who denounces
his Lordship title...

From Martha Grimes....
i bumped into Caroline Graham...
The writer of The Midsommer Murders series...
the original book version...
not the movie version...
I simply adore
The Detective Chief Inspector Tom Barnaby..
and his sidekick Detective Sargeant Gavin Troy...
The insight into these two characters
are hilarious and Ms Graham really
knows how to make Barnaby human....

These three writers will keep me occupied
for a long while...
but i am still on the look for any good
mystery books...
i have not grown tired of this yet...
for as long as i can remember...
so well....
if you are into mysteries....
i highly recomend these 3 writers...

Plain stupid or what...?

We discovered that there will be a trip
to Cameron Highland during the December holiday...
9th Dec to be exact...exactly a day after
Hari Raya Haji...
And it is supposed to be a benchmarking
trip to a secondary institution of learning in
the highland...

It is not formally announced...
It is not ANNOUNCED at all...
so we are left in the dark......wondering...
who will have to go....
It says the the Admin people...
so that will include the HM, PKs, KBs, KPs..
Omigosh...i'm in the list...

The stupid thing is...
the date is set right after Raya Haji and
people would surely have other things
to do on that day...
like Korban on the second day...

Please take note:
It is not that we go against the admin ppl...
but the head does not seems to be able to think
LOGICALLY...
mind you...
she is inconsiderate....selfish...and...
really DELIBERATELY set out to
cause conflict among his subordinates...

If it is done during none school holiday time and
to a place close by...
and really an outstanding institution...
we would ALL gladly go...

but....
she always says that we are very stubborn and do not
follow her instructions...
BUT who in their right mind would
agree to one who is unreasonable...

haih...i forsee another conflict and
tense moment in the work place...

I will get my letter ready in advance
stating that i'll be in Sarawak....
Hm.....
i honestly do not know what to say....
STUPIDITY beyond reasoning....

Tug of war relationship between parents and children..

I just got off the phone talking to my parents for
almost an hour....
it's the weekly chat with my mom and dad...
and i think that of all my brothers and sisters,
honestly,
i am the ONLY one who call them 2 t0 3 times a
week for a chat....
catching up on news back home etc.

I discover that as i grow older...
i appreciate more the relationship that
i have with my parents ...
and also my siblings....
Does it mean that i have grown wiser?
Maybe...wiser in a sense that i am able to see further
ahead and well....accept things that can be changed
and that cannot be changed...

During my teenage years up to my adolescent
years, i discovered that i did not have a close
relationship with them like now...
Like the rest of the teenagers then and now,
(yes...i was a teenager once)
i never agreed with my parents...
rebelling against them gave more satisfaction than merely
agreeing to everything they said...

I realised that i started to appreciate them
when i realised how much they love me
and that they do not know how to say it...

I remember exactly when that was...
the time i broke up with my boyfriend and i
thought it was the end of the world...
yeap...i went all the way trying to mend the
relationship with my boyfriend then...
but only to come back with a broken heart...

My dad was worried sick but at the same time
both my parents did not freak out and went all the way
to look for me....
Instead...they trusted that i could take care of myself and
gave me some space to figure out the mess...
I remembered clearly the day he picked me up
from the airport and the journey back home..
as if it just happened yesterday...

I was so quiet sitting in the passenger seat...
and my dad didn't know what to say...
we were both very quiet...
then he glanced at me and saw the tears
that i could not hold back came
slowly down my cheak...
And he said,"Don't cry girl, tell me...
where he is and i can simply pay someone to beat him
up....i can always do that for you..."
And holding back my sob, i told him
to leave it alone...

That was the exact moment that i realised
that despite all the years of my rebelling against him,
and how much i feel alone at that moment...
my family....that is my parents...
were there for me....
and i realised too that i understand then how much they love me
and supported me...
and that they wanted to protect me from being hurt..
only to realise that there are things that they cannot protect me from..
My dad might not know how to say that
he loved me very much..
you see...my dad is very old school..
(i can say that now that i am wiser..)
and we can't expect old dogs to learn new tricks...
but i could read that that is exactly
what he wanted to say....

After that moment, i appreciate my family more...
i guess....i talk with my parents more...
and i listen more too....
and every time i wanted to rebel against hem,
i am reminded of that moment in my life...
and it makes me see things from different perspective...
You could say that i became wiser from
then on....

After all, where would we be without our parents...
right....
So, just remember...
no matter how old we are...
in our parents' eyes,
we are still their little girls or little men....

The last day of holiday...a long dragg...

Mother-in-law came on Saturday night with Chin's nieces and nephew..
3 of them...and the boy is a devil...
i'm telling you...
He climbed the staircase...
climbed the railing of the staircase....
went upstairs to press wildly on the keyboard of the comp...
he ran arounfd the house...
nearly knocked down my crystal salt from its vase...
nearly knocked down my flower on the table...
then he poo-ed on the floor behind the computer chair...
Oh...
driving me crazy....
and he only speaks Mandarin....
Arrrgh.....
the next day...he woke up so early and screaming...
woke me up at 7 am...
my precious last day for a lazy and late Sunday...
Aiiiih....
boy am i glad when he left....
he's cute..undeniable...at 3 of age...
but ....well....
naughty beyond words....

It's not that i am not fond of kids...
but this one is hyper man....
i can't stand it...
my nephews are not that naughty....
my nieces are the sweetest thing...
girlie and all....
Chin's are different....
I miss my nieces....

I savoured the last day of my holiday...
enjoying it till the very last moment...
slowly....willing it not to end...and yet....
tasting and enjoying every single second of it...
hmmmmm....

i cleaned and mopped the floor....
washed and dried everything....
then...enjoyed the pristine floor....
accompanied by Midsomer Murders episode and CSI...
when it finally ended....
i felt...
it is very hard to describe...
quiet regret that now it had ended...
or rather....
glad that i had the whole day to do things that i like....

That is my kind of day....

EID MUBARAKH 2008

Yesterday...Tess and i went to Sogo...to shop...
it was as usual...full of people...
and there were sales....

Shoes..handbags....clothes....everything...
so Tess and i browse and browse and bought
shirts for her siblings and i for Chin...
then tried some shoes....
but seemed like most of the time the nice
and kinky ones were either out of stock or
out of size...
haih...
but i got myself 2 blouses....which makes me happy...
in a cautious way...
in case i spent more than i should...hehe..

Anyway...we bumped into someone that Tess knows
who works in Miri but comes back here for Raya...
and he invited us to visit the family today...

So...well today...we planned to go at 10 am and be back by 3..
but i should have known the slow coaches in Tess...
who never changes since forever...
I as usual...got myself
into hot soup because of her...
we woke up at 10...and i took bath
and got ready by 11.30...and
well...what do you know...
she was still preparing breakfast in the
kitchen...
and only took bath at 12...
i kept telling her i needed to be in Sban by 5 pm...
and i was glancing nervously at the clock..
we were only at the commuter station at 2 sumting...reached
KL Central at 2.30 and she insisted we would be there until 4
and on our way back by 4.30...

i knew it ...
right from the start i was going to be late...
and caused trouble for myself..
and i kept glancing at de clock...
i think i looked tense...

Anyway...
we were in the monorail at 4.30....
but something was wrong with it and
it only took off at 5pm
we reached Central at 5 sumting...
waited for the train to Serdang....
and reached there by 5.45...
Chin had been waiting for nearly an hour...
I caught the next train because i had to take my
bag from Tess' car...
so i caught the 6.10 commuter and reached Batang benar
at 6.35...
and Chin was fuming...

We had family dinner at 6 pm...
and well....he was angry because we were extremely late...
I also do not know what to say...
Hmmm.......

Ikea with Tess....

Saturday.....Chin and I went to pick Tess up at her place...
which is so...so...far away from Sri Kembangan...
She said we were to wait at Jusco Equine...so
we met up and had lunch...
then off to her place...which is further up...
and susah nak jumpa...
if she were to ask me to drive there...i'll
surely get lost...

So, to make story short...we went to Ikea...
and wah...so many things to see....and buy...
but have to think of moolah...
hehehe..

Well...i bought 2 WHITE towels...
(i'm into white now)
which is of medium size and
soak water well....
which i regreted that i only got 2...
it was really cheap....for a while water soaking towel...
RM6.90...
I can pile up my cupboard for guests who bunk in my house...
so they don't have to worry packing
towel if coming to my place...
anyway...towel takes up too much space in a bag...

Tess got herself a throw...which she made into a
really comfy blanket....
now i regret that i didn't pile up on that one too
cos' my house lacks blanket for guests...
Hmm...hopefully the price will stil be the same the next time we're there....

Then, we went to the Curve and walked the Saturday Bazaar...
and i got myself a Caroline Graham book...
the Chief Inspector Barnaby series from Border...
so excited to read...
What a satisfying Saturday outing...

Yay...IKEA...

Friday freedom and well....hurrah....for a brief break...

Alas...the much awaited Hari Raya break is here
and come friday...everybody was impatient...
waiting for the last bell to ring...
But to tell you the truth...
there is no bell ringing in my school...
It has been so for ...well...
let see...last year there was a brief
period of order...with the bell ringing every
40 mins to keep time....but that's just typical of my chaotic school...
i digress from the topic of course...

Anyway...Friday was or can be compared to as
a nuisance.....
because by simply being there...
it makes it compulsory for everyone
to wait until twelve...with their feet tapping...
and arms crossing their chests....
and the constant glances at the clock...
or rather a semblance of a clock...

When the clock finally showed 12 noon...
everyone rushed to the clocking in machine to clock out....
and then....off they went...
for the much awaited break....
it was like a breadth of fresh air...
coming out of a stuffy place and then...
into the much awaited moment...

Well....for my Muslim friends....
SELAMAT HARI RAYA AIDILFITRI 2008...
