A small kingdom in a far, far away land....of the unknown..

I hate school politics and i try so very hard to steer clear of it
if possible....i don't want to be dragged
through dirt...and man...
i'm telling u .....
Work Place Politics
c
an get down right dirty sometimes...

Can people change at a blink of an eye??
I guess so....
How fickle one can be....
if we really care to think about it real hard...
but i guess hypocrisy is everywhere...
undeniable...

Everything has turned into a stale mate now...or rather...
simmering underneath waiting to boil over...
is more like it...
there is a thin line of division...
like everything is a farce-
without much humour in it...
or rather stale humour...
like over night ginger ale....

The whole institution is in chaos to me...
The head is fickle...cannot see beyond her nose...
the second in command suddenly becomes very obedient...
and turn out to be a very efficient shoe polisher...
the third in command is the only male...
who prefers to steer clear of female dominancy...
(a very wise man if i may say so...
because the female species is generally known to rule
with their hormones...no pun intended)
the fourth in command is an opportunist who seizes every
opportunity to create havoc, distrust and of course....
pure malice....

The 4 generals...hmmm...as for the four generals...
3 are of the female species....who also follow
in the footstep of ruling with their hormones...
and a lone sane male who is true to his species...
will fight for anything he deemed as the truth...
(a man of principle who is sandwiched among females keeper of order)

Haih....
With such rulers in command...
i don't see how we can get ahead...
much less take A STEP forward...

There is no academic priority...
Everything is adhoc..
No future planning...
Take things one day at a time...
No focus...

with such chaotic environment...
it is a wonder that we survived this far....

On another note: I think the false pretenses is going to crumble
sometime soon...
and drama will prevail....
muahahahaha....
Much anticipation...
Much excitement....
Much drama...
Much to watch....
that i can almost taste it in my mouth....
(I'm practically squeezing and rubbing my hands in anticipation)
SWEET ANTICIPATION....

Today's News...

News Flash...

The government is going to draw up a Race Relation Act....
Because recently many clownish politicians made
racist statement openly on national TV..
resulting in the arrest of 3 people under the ISA...
Haih...what have become of Malaysia...

I guess if you earn a whole lot of the tax payers money
every month..it doesn't matter if you make a clown of yourself
on national TV and in the newspapers...
and as usual, Malaysian with the
MALAYSIA BOLEH slogan as a general principle,
well....these clowns BOLEH say whatever they want and get away with it...

And it doesn't matter if you look like clowns...
there are always other clowns who will become your faithful
followers.

Bernama TV reported that Awang Tengah said Sarawakians
DO NOT NEED the Race Relation Act..
I so totally agree with him...as i am a
Sarawakian...living in West Malaysia.

Sarawakian are harmonious people...
We do not need the power craze and race craze people
to guide us...
We mix with all sort of races and blend in...
You can't even guess correctly the race of a person
in Sarawak...for all you know
the person could be Chinese but does not look like one...
and Sarawakians generally speak more
than 1 local languages...be it Iban, Chinese, Bidayuh etc...

And the Sarawak government was right not to let UMNO
into Sarawak.....because honestly...
i think they are not right in the head...
championing their own race and selfish....
We Sarawakian definitely do not think like them....

All the people who had work for several years in
Sarawak told me that Sarawakians are
friendly people and they are not prejudiced
against others...
and i have met a lot of them believe me...

Personally....i agree with them when they make comparison
between Sarawakians and the West Malaysians...
I have only resided here for 2 years and from my
experience in Uni for 6 years over here...
some people over here are more suspicious and distrustful
and of course sometime...
down right malicious.....

Of course most would be friendly etc...but sometimes very superficial i would say...

Swimming to a healthy life...

I've pick up swimming again as a way to lose some weight and stay healthy....
the Malay food here is so rich and if one is not careful...the waistline can expand....
everything is masak lemak....everyday...

Anyway...back to the swimming again...
there is a stadium near my house...one with a Malay name
which i couldn't for he life of me remember...
I'll go there at least 3 times a week now...just a 5 mins drive...
every Tue..if i can make it...wed and Thurs....
On thurs, i go with Chin...

It is always crowded with people...since i think the peak
hours is from 6-9 pm....
But anyway...the it is a great way to relax after a tiring day...
i always find myself energised again after a good one hour swim...
I do 10 laps now and plan to increase gradually...
I of course prefer aerobics but it's so difficult to find a class nearby Seremban 2 area...

There is a dance studio that offer dance lesson
and i'm thinking of signing up..
and learn at least some modern dance or maybe
belly dancing which is so popular nowadays....

But for now...swimming itself is not bad...
provided that it doesn't rain on those days....
I hope to maintain this activity as a regular activity and
above all improve my swimming technique...
especially the free style....

Well..so far i have not experienced any weight loss yet..
but i guess...Rome wasn't built in one day...
so...2 weeks of swimming will not have a miraculous effect i guess...

Oh...and i purchase a blue with yellow strip
swimming suit last week.....with a cross back which i am not familiar with...
but so far it has been comfy...
and chin said the colours are kinda cool...

Mid Autumn festival @ Lantern Festival

Mid Autumn festival usually falls on Sunday...
though i don't really know the exact date for it in the Chinese calender
but we usually go back to my mother-in-law's house
to have family dinner. Since Chin's brother is in Dubai,
so to make it merrier, Chin's sister and her family
joint the dinner. This happened last Sunday by the way....

Chin's nephew...the naughty little baby's birthday
also falls on this date in the Chinese
Calender...so, it'll be a double celebration
with birthday songs and cake as well....
Mother-in-law cooked a simple dish of steamed chicken
and chin's sis-in-law cooked buttered prawn and as
usual, instead of having rice, we'll have the
Chinese style noodle with gravy.
It was simple but delicious...

When the family gets together...it'll
be a deafening gathering....and last Sunday was no difference.
Everyone was talking at the
top of their voices including the
kids...and since i only speak broken cantonese...i
just listened to the whole loud conversation.
At one point i was thinking...
my head was going to explode with all the sounds...
sheesh....
no wonder Chin talks so loudly....
her mother talks really loud and the
kids practically shouting when they talk....

Anyway...it was a good gathering...though...
it rained this year so we couldn't
set up the table outside and drink tea and
eat mooncake.
WE had birthday cake instead and of course...
the baby was the happiest....

Young and not so innocent...

Friday has always been quite a free day for me in school...it being
a half day labour and all...i only have 3 periods and then free until going back time...

I decided to sit in Kak Ti's cubicle and do my newspaper
reading and marking my papers there...
Liza and i talked about everything and anything that
crossed our mind..
Towards the end of the half day labour
Umi came to join us....
She asked me to email some files for her..
She told us that she just got to know that the students in the Form 2 and 3 classes
are not so innocent as we teachers assumed they are..
She got to know that Kak Ji interviewed some girls about
th4e rumours that go around saying that
they have done it....
done IT - sex....
Her expression was - dah selamat dah...
When asked aren't they worried that they might
get pregnant...
One girl said that she won't because - masuk sikit je...
and she showed the length - 2 inches...

Another girl related how she had her first encounter...
she was at the merdeka celebration last year
and there was a raid and she managed to eacape..
Afraid of going back home, she called her
so called 'abang angkat'
who works in a bank and he came to get her...
They went to the bank while she was using the toilet..
he entered and the next thing she knew
he kissed her and took off her clothes...and
the rest is history...
they had it 3 times that night....

I'm not saying that i am shocked at this
discovery...far from it...
Kampung schools and urban schools have their fair share
of these kind of stories ...the only
difference is how it happens..
In urban schools, students would arrange their own
holiday trips without adult supervision...
and they'll go in pairs....
I remember Annette related this story to Chin and me...
In the kampung areas...
the rubber estates and palm oil estate
will be the most popular areas for the students...

On a serious note, i wonder if these children's parents really
know what's going on with their children...
or do they care at all....

Bulan Ramadhan

This is the second week or rather the 11th day of the fasting month and i think this is the most awaited month is the year.....for a few reasons...
i can't believe that time really flies and that now is the second week already.
The first reason is that it is a month with the least activities in the afternoon in school...everybody practically vanishes from school once school is over at 2pm. Chin also get to go back early (by his standard) because of the same reason.
SEcondly, this is the time that we can really look for food that are rarely cooked in the whole year. You can only find these food in the Pasar Ramadhan and it is not bad if you get to taste it once a year.
There'll be a lot of sales at this time of the year because of the looming hari Raya....and this is good because we get to purchased stuff at a discounted rate....
The only drawback is that we have to endure the same food everyday in school because the school canteen only cook very few types of food during ramadhan. Chin's school is worse and he had to go hungry the whole day...and breakfast usually is his only meal for the whole day until going back time...poor thing...
But it still is a good month despite the fact that we have to go hungry because he gets to get back home early....and that beats all the drawbacks...haha....

Play ball....

The teachers in SMK DUMA organised a sort of friendly matches with the teachers in my school and Lin being the SU Ko-ko rounded all the non-pregnant teachers (which are the few of us) and active as well as sporting to take part...it was Paksa rela....force volunteerism....haha...
Chin insisted tha i pull out from the game but after thinking for a while...i thought why not...since i don't get to play games that require a team often....anyway...Chin had to go to school on that day...so..he just had to drop me in DUMA.
I agreed to play netball and volley ball...and Lin wanted me to play Centre...heck...i didn't think i could run all the time....so i exchanged with Liza....luckily she agreed...
Initially i wanted to be the Goal Shooter since i only know how to play that position all my life..and i'm not a bad shooter either...but looking at the opponent's tall goal keeper, well...let's just say i agreed to Husni being the shooter, since she's taller..haha...
We played the first game for 10 minutes....gosh...it felt like an hour....and i wonder what an hour would feel like....
Our team played pretty fast game...running all the time and shooting within 30 seconds of getting the ball.....not a bad team considering that we beat DUMA errmm....9 or was it 10 to 4...hahaha...great game...Lin of course being a national coach...kept giving instructions that...honestly..nobody paid attention to in the heat of the moment....the second round was on 5 minutes since all of us were DEAD TIRED....boy were we glad when the final whistle went off....

Then..there was netball...and kaka ngah played the first game with us....she rawks.....first timer and well..considering that she is near retiring ...she does rawk...haha....she also played badminton after that..a game which i had not played for...well...let me see...since i was in Primary Six...12 years old.....i was of course forced to play but we had tremendous fun....and of course we won all 3 games....i forgot to bring the camera but my friend did..and we did take some fun pics.....

What an event....a fun event undeniably....
