Farewell 2009, welcome 2010

Eve of New year...
A crossing between past and future...
The now....

It's that time again when ppl start to reflect on their achievement
in the past...and set new goals for the future...
New resolution...
but what about the old ones?
Have they been achieved?

Anywho...the new year brings in more responsibility and
i hope that i can carry them out with
excellence...

There are some new development i should say
in school:
1. Kak Ti will become KB in SM Agama KK
2. Puaka is no longer in school
3. Cikgu man will most prolly take Puaka's place
4. I am in the Pengurusan AJK (courtesy of my new title GC)
5. The names of the classes have been changed (and God...
i can't remember them)

Apart from that, everything seem normal....
people still try not to accept responsibility given...
excuses, excuse, excuses...

PMR result for English only increased by 0.9%
which is too low an increase...
arghhh...what should i do...
to make a drastic increase?
Teachers are so stubborn....they refuse to try new methods...

So, what are my new resolution?
1. To change the attitude of the English teachers to be more dynamic
2. To push the teachers so they will push the students to work harder...
3. To push the panel forward to achieve more than last year...

argh......
so fake....these are not new....
i had these for like 3 years now...
and this is my fourth...

But...i shall try harder....
and hopefully God will finally grant us our prayers....

Waiting for our flight...

Woke up early this morning....
damn...last night didnt get a good night sleep in Mantin due
to the cold and mosquitoes...
Chin had it worse....padan muka....
Anyway...was ready by 6 am and headed straight to Sis-in-law
house...
went out for breakfast for a while...
as usual Chin blamed me for being late but
hello...he forgot to inform me he wanted breakfast last night...
usually we grab a bite at LCCT...
So...yeah...
he thought i have telepathic powers to read his mind...
Anyway...now we're waiting to board...
can't wait to go back....
It'll be a ood hols...
Merry xmas...

Off to Sarawak 2mw...

We'll be leaving for Kuching tomorrow ...
and so today we're spending the night in Mantin
so Chin's bro-in-law can send us to LCCT in the morning...

Anyay...we sent Matahari off to my friend's house just now...
huhuhu...i'm going to miss that little squirrel of mine...
he looked bewildered just now...
then he was awfully quiet before we left...
pretending to be sleeping...
when i took him out to say a few words of
goodbye..
he refused to look at me...at us...
pretending to be fast asleep...
huhuhu....another symptom that he's sulking...at me...
he look kinda sad...
I'm gonna miss him...
even tho he had been very naughty these past weeks but
well...he made me laugh...
argh...six days of not seeing him and he's
in a stranger's house...
i just hope he'll behave...

Past update...Parents and nieces trip to Malacca...

My nieces were so excited when knowing
that they would be going to Malacca...
so they mentioned some of the places they wanted to visit...
like mini malaysia, zoo air keruh, A Famosa...
Yeap... we only covered a bit of that...
we went to Banda Hilir...
Jonker Street...my father loved it since it has many
antique shops...and quaint looking...
we had cendol there...the original nyonya cendol...
then we went looking around...
bought myself beads accessories and my mom
surprisingly bought for herself too...
hmm...
then we went to Dataran Pahlawan so my mom
could find a place to sit...
then we went to Christ Church....there was no flower there as
i think they were replanting...
anyway...took the two kids to the museum....
then we walked all the way up to A Famosa...
The kids were so happy...
on the way looking for food we stopped by
the Maritime museum...
which i had never visited...
the after dinner we went to the Eye of Malaysia...Malacca...
Luckily there was a holiday promo so the ride
was cheap...
RM5 for kids and RM10 adult while senior citizen RM8.
My mom didn't dare to go up...
the kids were scared at irst as my dad kept
scaring them but luckily they
were brave enough to go up...
and weee......
what a ride...
6 times...round and round...which was petty fun....
it was quite late by the time we got down so we
headed home after that...
thought of bringing my mom up but then...
the drive home was one and a half hour
and Chin had a headache...
so yeah....
It was memorable for the kids tho...

Plaster off...yay...

Today was my appointment with Dr. Tang
to take off the plaster from my back...
he said it's taking the stitch off...but there's no stitches apparently
nowadays...
it's more likely taking the plaster off and spray the wound with
water proof plaster...
Thank God...i hated the feeling of that bandage sticking to my back...
like an alien that's stick to me and refuse to let go...
parasite....ahahhahaha...
We waited for almost an hour before the good Dr came..
he was still wearing his green scrub...
straight from surgery i guess...
so he just tore the plaster off and then sprayed it...
and then described to me what to be done if the
stapler like stuff come off...
my hubby is supposed to take it off once it comes off by itself...
Yeap...have taken some photos of the before and after
thingy...kinda gross...
i still feel like there's a lump there...
or maybe it is just my eyes...
Anyway...there is still slight pain...soreness i guess...
but the parasite feeling is gone...
It'll take a while for it to be completely heeled...
but i can't wait to see it...
i can lean properly now...it's not that lopsided lean...
like there's a blob there...
now...it's a real lean....

Minor surgery yesterday...

I am suppoded to update on the latest happening
but life had been busy for a while
and anyway...my nieces kept conquering the
net so....i just let them have their way...

Anyway...the day after they left...i had a minor surgery...
in KPJ to remove the fatty lump in my
shoulder blade...

We went there early in the morning...
for admission....
as in checked in to the hospital...
then...by 8.30 i was wheeled in OT..
which was pretty cold..
It makes me wonder why do they have to make
the room so very cold..
i wasn't nervous like the first time...
but the cold relly got to me...
i was shivering...
by the time the tubes were inserted into my vein...
but the effect of the anesthetic was
pretty quick...
i was out within seconds...
was having a pretty nice dream through the surgery
actually...
and was rudely woken up at the end of it...
hmmm...now i've forgotten what it was...

i felt a kind of heaviness at my shoulder blade area...
it's the pain but i could't feel it yet because of the
painkiller or the numbness..
but i did feel sore though...
then after swallowing one painkiller...
wallah....i don't even feel the pain...
just sort of stiff...and sore...
The good doc came to inspect his handy work at 4pm and
i requested to be discharged that evening...
i don't think i will get a good night sleep there considering
my noisy neighbour in the next bed...
who kept a sort of feast going on...
i thought she was the one who was sick but
apparently it was her mum...
anyway..the hospital would be way too cold at night...
and i miss my soft bed...
I was still abit dizzy from the effect of the anesthetic..
but well...i insist on going home...

The fat was a big blob of fat...like chicken fat according to Chin...
but i didn't get a good look since the nurses were busy
taking my blood pressure reading and stuff...
But as of today...
i'm still taking the pill so i don't really feel the pain...
all i can say is i feel sore...
that's it...

A Dim Sum breakfast in Nilai...

A dim sum breakfast...
I love dim sum...
and one of the best and cheap dim sum breakfast
can be enjoyed in Nilai...
Sister-in-law's treat today...

Papak was slightly annoying when he said
pu hao yee se....they always give us
a treat when my parents are here...
but well...
we do give them a treat in return when all
the family are back in Mantin...
so..this is family after all...

Anyway...the kids enjoyed the breakfast...
Akim was so full...
Yaya was not so adventurous though...
but she's a bit cautious....
afraid that she might suffer from stomachache...

After breakfast, we went to Nilai 3...
mainly for mamak and papak to shop...
usually there is a bargain or sale there...
Unfortunately...mamak got stomachache and the
trip had to be cut short...
The girlie2 shoes are quite cheap considering there
is a 50% off...
but too bad there was no size for Sasa...

Papak was not happy when we had to go back...
It was rather inconsiderate i feel...
considering that mamak has not been feeling well
since she arrived here...
and since papak did not manage to shop for anything safe
a jersey for Baby...
he kept blaming mamak for it...
Hmmm....
as if we are not going to bring them there again...
and well...
he even suggested that we rent Mr Yee's mpv
and drive to Malacca on Tuesday when
Chin will be in school on duty...
oh yes he can drive but here is not Kuching
and he's not young...
and Mr Yee...he's our neighbour and
we don't really know him well enough...

Anyway...we went to the Pasar Malam in Mantin
at 5.30 and got quite a bargain there instead...
Not a bad day after all...

KL trip with parents and nieces...

Wednesday outing...
we went KL...
Kim and Sasa were so excited....
and kept asking about the distance...and
how far it is...
and how long would it take...etc...etc...
the car was a tight fit but we managed somehow...

First stop was the Curve...
We had lunch there and then walk around looking at the Xmas
decoration and took photos...

Then on the way back we went to The Science Centre PSN)
in Mont Kiara...
It was a really good experience for the girls...
The entrance was free...
and it was slightly different from my last trip.

My nieces were so excited...
There was the aquarium at the entrance arch way...
with really big fish...
Then there was the science discovery section
where they got to try some of the gadgets and read
on how they work...

Then, there was the Science show at 4 pm...
and bothe of them got to participate...
Sasa got to do the inertia experiment...
whereby she had to swing a cup of water...
real fast and not a single drop fell splashed on her...
Kim got to blow a balloon...
and she asked Sasa to come up and poke it...

After PSN, we went to KL Tower...
Entrance fees were quite expensive...
Senior citizens and children paid RM28 and adult RM38.
Sasa was nervous...as she thougth it was open space up there...
My mom didnt want to go up when she discovered that
i did not go up initially...
so finally...all of us went up...
The view was spectacular from up there...
Tho yesterday was cloudy and a bit hazy...
But the night lights were breathtaking...
We came down at 7 sumthing...
and complimentary to the tickets...
there was the ticket for pony ride...
Since we adult weigh more than the minimum weight,
the 2 of them got to do 3 rides each...
woweee....

After KL tower, we went for dinner in KLCC and then
photo taking...inside at the xmas deco and then outside
in the park...
the two girls were over the moon...
ahhh...wat a day...

Doing nothing but enjoyimg every moment of it...today...

We didn't go anywhere today...since yesterday's trip
was quite tiring for my mom...
but i decided to bring my two nieces to Jusco...
We sneaked out of the house...
since we didn't want Uncle Chin to know...
that the girls were having a whale of a time...
we tiptoed quietly out after informing the grandparents...

We went to the Popular first...
Kim and Shasha got themselves books to read...
then we went to look for earring for Shasha
but couldnt find any...
so we look for bargain sneakers for the girls...
but again there wasnt any good bargain...
so the next thing we looked for was a purse for Kim..
we found this one shop with
pretty kewl purses on sale...
so she got herself an RM10 purse after discount...
I got myself an RM10 electric blue coin purse...
When we stepped out of the shop...
Kim lifted up her loot, smiled and said...
Ahhhh...this is what shopping is about....

Then we went to the much awaited Secret Recepe
visit...
we ordered 1 slice of chocolate indulgence
and indulged all we wanted...
wallah...it came with a complimentary cup of tea...

It took all of our self restraint to not buy another
slice of sinfully delicious cheese cake...
since good things do come in small portion...
Instead...we went to Big Apple Doughnut
and bought 2 doughnuts...
and sat there enjoying every bite of the soft delicious
doughnut....
After that...we strolled back to the car and drove home...
What a wonderful time....
just girls going out enjoying ourselves...
eating and laughing....
and shopping...
Ahhh...purrrrrfect...

Is it written in the star?

Is it written in the stars
Are we paying for some crime
Is that all that we are good for
Just a stretch of mortal time

Ti's a lyric from my favourite song...
and it makes me wonder...is everything written in the star?
I don't mean like a star cross lovers kinda stuff...
just destiny and our life...
Has it all been decided before hand?
And can we change it?

This evening, while chatting with his mother, Chin suddenly
asked about the feng shui book from
his mother.
I thought it is a normal feng shui book
but apparently it is a really old one
that predicts one's life...
Interestingly...he looked up his mother's prediction
and well...what can i say....her life is just as the book says...
Chin also looked up his..
and so far the prediction has been true...
it says he would achieve a certain success in his life when he
reaches the age of 36...
and in 2 years time he will be 36...and
recently he was offered GC....

As for mine...
most of my young life...i had to struggle
for the things that i wanted...
and nothing came easy...
which is very much describing what i has gone thru...
and yes...it says life will only
become easier as success will come my
way when i reach my thirties...
well...that much is quite true too...
Thus I chose Butterfly to portray
my whole life...
only when emerge as a butterfly that i feel i can fly freely
and develop my potential...
and do things that i want..

Well...the question is ....
can we believe such prediction?
can we totally rely on it...
and can we change it....somehow...
I believe that everything is indeed written but along the way we
are offered opportunities to change it...
just that at time...we are scared to reach for it...
but changing our destiny is indeed a possibility...

To choose or not to choose....

Who do u love most? Both...
Who do u prioritise most? Both...
Who do u think most deserve? Both....
Then...who would you choose?
I don't know.....
Pray tell...i really dunno....

Akim got 4A1B in UPSR exam...
Yaya has been badgering her mom ever so long to
let her come over here...
And finally when she relents...
Akim got really good result and the
her grandfather would like to bring both over here...
Now...our car is a tiny weeny Kelisa
that will only fit 5 ppl comfortably...
definitely to squeeze one more in at the back
would make it uncomfy...
So now...we have to choose...
so i suggested Akim as a reward for her UPSR but Yaya
is not happy because she was the one who
really wanted to come in the first place...

The kung2 on the other hand insists on bringing both of them...
It is not worth it because the ticket is so expensive for a kid...
haih...now...
i don't know what to do....
really....
i don't...
How can u choose between 2 that u love most?
We don't do we...

Buzzzzzzzzzzzzz....buzzzzinnnng.....non stop...

Friday was the last of school and i was busy
to the point of not knowing what to do
first...
Mostlu I had to wait for people to give me reports
or operational and tactical plans to be compiled...
i had given the deadline which
was Thursday but there
were still some who were late...
waiting until the last moment...
so i couldn't photostate it for my KB...
Argh...i still feel like there are unfinished stuff to be done
This is how it has always been...
Buzzzzing away...
at the end of every year....
i can't recall a year that i had nothing to do
at the end of the year...
BUT
of course it puzzles me..
that in the midst of busy-ness
there were some teachers who seemed to be so relax like
they had nothing to do at all...
oh how i wish...
but somehow i suspect that they do not know
that they're supposed to send in
a lot of stuff before the long hols.
I still have to do a lot of planning for next year...
argh....
but at least with the hols
i hope i can get them done and next
year to be carried out only...

HAPPY HOLIDAYS ALL...
My favourite month will be here soon...
waaa......christmas month...
yay....

Spinning a beautiful speech on the spot...

I often envy those who can do impromptu speeches
given at the eleventh hour by someone...
often catching you off guard...

I was in such a situation yesterday...
totally unprepared...
My colleague came up to me and asked me to give
a speech to the Form 5 students
a sort of farewell speech...
I had no idea on what to say and she didn't even tell me
on Friday that there was going to be
Izin Restu on Monday...
So, through out the assembly i kept thinking about what
to say...
and to make ithat a challenging task,
bed was constantly yakking away beside me
about her irritating Ketua Pemeriksa
and what happpened to her
last weekend...
Half way i had to ask her to stop for a few moment to let me
organise my thinking...
She gave me some suggestion on what to say...
advices...reminders...the usual ones...
take care of your health...eat healtily...etc..etc...

To make matters worse, Salisah and Aida went up
before me and they said all that
i wanted to say...
then Kak Sarimah too said moe or less the same thing...

So when it was my turn...
I only had 4 points in my mind:
1. The world is your oyster
2. Your future is a blank slate...
3. Go out and paint the town red
and
4. a beautiful haiku i wrote for the Form 5 students.

So...well...i spun a beautiful speech about how
a little bird is ready to take flight...
to test the wind...to carve its destiny...
of how they are now like the little bird...
ready to take flight...
leaving the roost...
and they have to leave a mark...to make a difference
in their life...to touch others...
and leave their print....
I ended it with a haiku....

Go now, spread your wings and fly
Little bird, feel the breeze
Soar, soar, catch the drift and fly...

2012 - The End of the World as we know it today...

Last night we went to watch a 2012 movie in MBO...
It was a pretty long movie - almost 2 and a half hours...
span over 3 years...from 2009 to the D day- 2012.
It told of how the aligment of all the planets with the
sun causes a a cosmic disturbance
that melts the earth core...
and of course it deals with the dilemma faced by
heads of governments...
who to save and how do you choose....
but it all boils down to money in the end...
that does the choosing...
Anyway...
some issues touches by the movie include:
what would you do if u know that's the last moment of ur life?
would u be selfish and save ur own butts?
what would u do to save yourself and your love ones?
where would u go?
what are the morally correct things to do?
Well...the effects are quite good...realistic...how the plates shift..
and the plates the we know now submerge under water...
the volcanoes...
the earthquakes...
the tsunamis...
those are pretty kewl to watch...
but apart from that...
it is a bible story brought to life...
of how God asks Noah to build an ark to save
the animals and those whom He had chosen...
before He cleans earth of sins...
but only here...
God is quiet...
while mankind struggle to survive...

Class Party...5 Science 2009...

Today is another foodathon in school...
the thought of food nearly caused me to puke....
argggh...so much food....
food and food and food everywhere...
Not exactly actually....
i was exaggerating a bit there...
but a lot of food..yesh...
5SN organised a class party and there were so much food...
There were lontong, beehun soup, spaghetti, puddings, cakes, nuggets,
curry puffs, water melon, roti jala...
wah...by the time i came down from
my class...i couldn't have anymore lunch...
lunch too was sponsored...since we had
In-house training today...
but i didn't take any since i was too full...
but we had a good time...the students had slide shows on pictures
taken throughout the year of their class...
then they passed me one cd of the slide show which
is preety creative of them...
Anyway....the American Choc cake i bought from
Baker's Village Jusco was
simply delicious...
really....yummmmmmmmmyyyyy....

ICELT 2009 - Equatorial Malacca

Tessa and I attended ICELT 2009 in Malacca
for 2 days...
It was an eye and mind opening experience which
i enjoyed tremendously...
tho there were some glitches when some
presenter did not turn up for their session.
We met with our ex-coursemates -
Dz, Florence and Yasmin..
Dz of course would be there since she is part of the
organiser...

Yasmin, Tess, Mizza, Florence

But it felt good to be together again and catching
up on all the the years of not meeting each other...
And to make it more significant - this is the
10th year o our graduation...
so this little reunion is happening 10 years after
we had graduated from uni...

5 of us during lunch

There were some really interesting sessions that we attended...
one that really got the crowd participating
and learn something new...
Among the most interesting that i like
were Carolyn Graham with Jazz Chanst and Creativity in the
Classroom,
Annie Hughes with Telling Story,
and Malachi Edwin's finding or rather commentary on
the Literature Component 1st and 2nd cycle..

Hightlights:
Jazz Chants by Carolyn Graham
She is an amazing lady...
energetic and full of life....
she is a musician as well as a teacher...
she used to play jazz music in a jazz club while teaching in NY..
and that's how she discovered Jazz Chants...
Her workshop taught teachers how to come up with jazz chants
and also how to count the beat...
and she also demonstrated the chanting and
involved all the participants...
so that we can get the ideas and the feel for
jazz chants...
She had 2 sessions...
another one is creativity in the classroom...
now...this time she still dealt with jazz chants
but more to how to incorporate
jazz chants with jazz music...
teachers can simply download or buy jazz music cds
and use them in the classroom...
so for those who cannot play the keyboard
well..there is the option of using the cds...
a thumb up for carolyn graham...

Story Telling by Annie Hughes
This is also an interesting session for teachers.
she showed how teachers can use story telling in the classroom
to teach...
and she demonstrated how it is done...
her movement and gestures were
really vivid that one can imagine the story
that she told....

Reader's Theatre by Dr Sujatha
This is also an interesting slot done by a lecturer in Uitm...
she got her students to do the RT
so we get the idea of how it is done...
(tho i had attended one afew years back)
but it is still refreshing to see...
she gave some websites on where teachers can source for
simple to difficult scripts...

Other interesting slots include Blogging as an educational tool and
Christopher Allen's session on his finding of culture and
its influence in the teaching and learning styles.
Too bad we couldnt attend Jaya's session because
it was at the same time with Edwin's.

But overall....this is a refreshing conference to attend
if one intends to develop
one's teaching skills...
the experience gained worth more than the money paid..

On the last day before leaving Equatorial...

Catsitting...

We brought the kitten to school today....
he was in UJ...
hahaha..since he is too young too be left alone...
we just brought him to school...
he seemed okay...
playing with my students...
and then slept on my lap....
Chin picked me up at 3 and said that his students told him
that the kitten had not passed motion for
nearly a week now...
so we brought him to the Vet Clinic in KK...
We met the vet assistant...En Wira who
is a really friendly person...
he said he has 30 cats...
and he relayed an interesting piece of information to us...
a cat when it is sick and the owner does not
show him tender loving care
will have a suicidal tendencies....
Wakakakakaka...
but we told him the problem and he diagnosed the kitten...
and he sold us half a packet of milk...
cost RM4...
The kitten seems quite happy...
sleeps a lot...
maybe because it is a baby cat
after all...
and well...we played with it...
forced it to eat and drink milk...
well....he is cute...
my colleagues were smitten by him
and the vet assistant also said that he is comel...
but we're stil at conflict with its name...
haih...

Love at first sight for Chin....

There's a new addition to US now...
a small beautiful greyish kitten...
I've been badgering Chin for a kitten so often but he never gave in...
he always has his reasons for not adopting one...
But today....
he fell in love hard....for a kitten...
His students have been feeding and caring for t
he kitten for almost 2 weeks now...
since its mother abandoned it...
he noticed the kitten since last week
but only today did he set his eyes on it...
and it was love at first sight for him...
(tho in actual truth, i am his love at first sight)
that he actually agreed to adopt the kitten...
we tried to feed it milk just now...
Chin bought a syringe that maybe can function
like its mother's milk gland...
but seems like he refuses to drink from it...
slowly and more patience i guess...
Ngaaa......
ahahahah....
he wants to name it Kucai...
and i want to name it Matahari....
Hmmm....
Kucai sounds like my student that he dislike...
for his strange attitude...
so i dont think that name will stick...
but the kitten is lovely....
lovely...lovely....lovely....
Oh bliss...a companion at last....

Traditional massage at Lin's place...

I've suffered from stiff and painful neck and shoulder
since Sunday evening...
and today i went to Lin's house for a massage.
She asked the Kakak form Duma Canteen to
come to her house.
She did a full body massage...
for me for RM30...
from my head, face to my toe...
great ha...?
Certain areas were more painful than other parts...
and she said it means that certain
part of my body is not healthy...
like my stomach area because
my shin hurt when she massage it...
and since my neck and shoulder hurt...
the painful area was my right arm...

But it was a refreshing massage...
a thoroughly good one...
and Lin kept asking me...
tak sakit ke...
nope it was not but only certain areas hurt...
i got so much relief after the back and shoulder massage she gave me...
i could turn my head to the right side without hurting and i can
lift my head...
and i can lift my right hand and shoulder...
amazing....
Thank God i don't have to suffer another night...
Lin...k la paling best...
kawan sekarang dan selamanye....
kekekekeke...

She was a bit pissed off today...
due to a certain snake...
(a new snake....this time...
the old one had changed its name to puaka...)
This snake actually sms Lin's friend to warn her
against Lin...
the funny thing was Lin was never had anything to do
with this particular snake...
she rarely dealt with her in her daily routine...
and they practically live in different universe..
but somehow this snake dares to spread her poison...
hmmm....
but trully...
this snake is weird...
a weirdo actually...
my description of her is...Luar Alam sangat tu..
But well....she is different...in an annoying osrt of way...
and because of that she has no good friends now...
poor her...
hmmm.....
but if her attitude is the way it is now...
i don't think she'll have any in the future...

A torturous day in school...

I went to school despite my aching and stiff neck...
but i couldnt turn my head much...
more like straight back....
My colleagues on the other hand....
bless their souls...
made fun of me...
in a good-natured sort of way, of course....
Ruslan purposely called me from afar and usuall
at an angle where i hade to turn at least to my right...
just so i could demonstrate my robotic way of turning
my head or rather my whole body....
Ravi called me a clone....
saying that it was not the real me who attended the school today....
more like my robotic clone and the
real me is stashed away at home....
hmmm....
but of course...
my HM advised me to go for a traditional massage...
and he said if he were to do it...
i would have to pay him...
haih...as if...
anyway...i made appointment to have a massage tomorrow
afternoon...
at Lin's house...
can't wait....

Neck pain...stiff neck...heck...

Argh...suffer...suffer...suffer....
I can't turn my head to the right and the
mere task of looking up is like hell....
I have been having a slight stiffness to the neck for
a few weeks now but
i can still cope with the slight discomfort
but suddenly yesterday evening....
everything became worse....
the pain was sudden for no apparent reason...
i woke up fine...
with no indication that i would have a stiff neck
but yesterday evening....
the pain came do suddenly...
but night fall...the effort to yawn was like too much....
I woke up every time i shifted my position
and that was like so many times....
i could only sleep with one position slightly comfortably....
but the rest of the night was like hell....
Ah...i hope it'll be over soon...
Haih....
rase nak patah....
bergerak pun macam tak leh bernafas...
naya...
this is bad news man....

October comes to an end...with plenty of good news...

Today is the last day of October...
Time does fly pretty fast nowadays...
Blink...blink...and it's end of the year....
and soon it'll be the beginning of another new routine year...

Ahh....just 3 more weeks to go...give or take...
and then school holiday....

Lin said i have been blessed this year...
MAYBE because i have been good...
or maybe what she meant was
I am a GOOD person...
never back stab friends....do my work with all honesty...
and work hard....and never complain....
that kind of thing...

Why did she say I have been blessed APLENTY?
Well...first of all...
unexpectedly i got my appointment as GC
(tho now i am stil pemangku, not officially yet
till i got my appointment letter)
Then....
I got a IV for my PTK exam...
(which i have been trying really hard to get)
and then soon...my pension application will be
approved and i can withdraw my KWSP money...
to do my long overdue treatment...

So, she is convinced that i am blessed....
by HIS ALMIGHTY...
Well...thank GOD for all the good things that
come my way...
and i pray that He will guide me through
all the new challenges that he has put my way....

Is it a good year?
Has this been a good year?
In terms of my panel...
I guess....no matter how much i put my effort into
achieving the many successes for my panel...
it will still be not enough....
well...i hope that this year's result in the public exam
will improve...
it is difficult to improve
mainly because of the students' attitude
and there is also the method of teaching...
Ahhh.....
i guess i'll have to try harder...
and God will always reward those
who do their job honestly and sincerely
without expecting anything in return...

Warts on the foot....argh....

Argh..there's a wart on my right foot and it hurts...
i didn't know it was a wart until my
colleague said ketuat....
and they have been very helpful in suggesting
what cream to look for in the pharmacy...
I found one just now - Duofilm...
my colleague said it works miracle...
so i'm going to try it...
I wonder where i got wart from...
but i notice it appeared after i came back from my 3rd salsa class...
i don't have shoe for dancing salsa so
all 3 of us go bare feet...
argh....
now i suffer the consequence....

Making new friend...

There's a new Indian girl in my line dancing class...
Sita....and she lives in Mambau...
belakang rumah I as i called it...
she's very pretty...and since she's a new addition...
she has a little problem of catching up...
but she's willing to ask...
so well...i taught her the cah2 steps just now so
she wont get so confused...
said she's taking latin dance in town starting this wednesday...
but i think it's going to be difficult for her...

New series - The Little Nyonya on NTV7

Today while browsing through the
channels as usual...
i accidentally watched and got hooked on this
new series...The Little Nyonya...
Love it for the fact that it portrays the Nyonya and Baba
cultures....
i missed the beginning of the story but i managed to
catch up on you tube...
apparently it came out in Singapore...
but only now is it shown in Malaysia...
a Singapore production...
which makes it even more intriguing....

UJ's Year End Dinner 2009

Suasana Uj yang transformed...

I cannot believe the the school days are drawing to an end...
I thought it just started but now it will end soon...
about 4 more weeks to go...
approximately...
Last night was our year end dinner "bash"
in UJ this year...
nothing fancy...no hotel stay...
and a vogue night out...for me at least...
hahaha....
What were the food?
There were loads of delicious food...
Nasi Briyani Gam, nasi kerabu,
laksam, soto beehoon, satay, ice cream,
ABC...well...i think those are it...
but there were still a lot of food left by the time
we left...
We had it in Dataran Ukhuwah...
open air dining experience..
thank God it didn't rain...
or rather it rained earlier but stopped...
there was karaoke as usual...
Ravi was the DJ...
a really good one...
one who could talk for hours...
and his gimmick...

Lin became the usherette

Stephen Gately passed on - belated entry...

Boyzone

Stephen Gately...
17.03.76 -
10.10.09

Chin actually sms me on that day about Stephen's death on 10th October,
knowing how much i am a fan of Stephen Gately...
eventhough he's gay...
but well...
who could resist a cute guy...right...
Anyway...he said it was of unknown causes then...
but now we know that he
died of natural causes due to genetic, cardiogenic pulmonary oedema.
He paternally inherited the condition.
What a sad turn of event....
he was only 33 years old...
He was a member of the boy band Boyzone...
He was the smallest member of the band but i
thought he was cute then...
But well...another death of a talent
for this year...

Chaotic Tuesday...

When i arrived in school at 7 this morning
Kak G suddenly asked me to take charge of the motivational
talk since none of the counsellors were in school.
She wanted me to ask all the Form 5 students to
be at the surau regardless Chinese or Indian or Malay.
She said that the KB and Form 5 coordinator would take charge.
The thing is we didn't know there was any programme for this morning.
Nobody informed us of the programme and since the
KB is incharge of it,
well Kak G should at least appoint one of them and not simply said
KB....
When the students asked me about the speaker, the duration etc...well...
i simply had no idea.
anyway...i was busy doing the programme book for tomorrow's
event and also the working paper
for the RIMUP programme...
She is one heck of an inefficient lady, that one...
Haih....
I cringe to think what would happen if someday
she moves up the scale to become a principal.
Kak Ros was unhappy with the whole surau setting thing
but after confirming it with Kak G she accepted
eventhough she seemed unhappy...
Understandable....tho....
ANyway...i heard later Ustaz Zool moved them all
into the ICT lab...
I announced to the subject teachers to be with the students during the
duration of the motivational talk,
but i don't think any of them went...
haih...typical of UJ teachers....
i announced twice but i can't blame them...
what's with the programmes tomorrow and all cramped into one day...
well...everyone was busy...
The counsellor could at least arranged the motivational
talk at a time when people are not so busy...
Another typical chaotic UJ day had passed....

Justice calls...

I read an article on Dr Porntip Rojanasunan on The Star
October 14th recently and felt
a great admiration for this funky middle age lady
who truly believes someone should
champion the dead...
The dead could not speak for themselves
so they need someone to find justice for them...
I wish that Malaysia has at least one great
forensic expert like her who truly
believes in his or her calling...
It is not that i do not trust the police...
yes we do trust the police on the normal mundane
everyday cases that do not involve politicians
and people with connection...
but when it comes to high profile cases...
well...we know the outcome even before the investigation starts...
Cheers to a brave lady....
It makes me believe that people like Mac Taylor, Horatio Caine
and Gil Grissom are not merely
fictional characters created from a Ethiopian society...
I pray that someday Malaysia
too can produce a revered forensic expert like her...

Despised by the police but hailed by the masses, Dr Porntip Rojanasunan is relentless in her pursuit of truth.

Love means never having to say you are sorry...

How can one love with all one's heart and soul that
one loses oneself?
How can one loves another until one is willing to forgo ones
self worth and feeling to put the other ahead all the time?
how can one disregard one's feeling and accept all
the hurt in the name of love?
Is this love?
Is it devotion?
or
Is it deep rooted fear?

Kak Mah told me a story...
a story that we all knew before...
but never in detail...
about a woman who loves her better half with
all her heart that she is willing to disregard her
own womanly feeling, her own rights to be loved
as much in return for the man she loves.
She practically creates a perfect homes where conflict is minimal
and everything runs smoothly for him
at the expense of her own feelings.
She tries to avoid conflict....
If the man complains of a minor problem, she will
quickly says that she will handle it promptly..
An example of an issue -
if she is going for a course or meeting...her husband would
complain that nobody will send the children to school...
and she will quickly agree to send the children first before she
goes for the meeting etc.
The man on the other hand will accept everything she gives
without bothering to even return the sacrifices...
he would never offer to do anything to help ease
her burden...
He would never even think about how she feels sacrificing
herself for him...
He is a taker....but never ever a giver...
Selfish love....
The only thing she ever gets from him
is a declaration of love on a piece of paper that she
displays to the whole world to see...
she is even willing to sacrifice a promotion offered to
her because this man she loves said that
it would inconvenient him to send
the children to school in the morning.

But, on a serious note, doesn't loving someone means
you are not willing to subject the one you love
to all the hardship and pain?
That you will PUT the one you love first rather
than taking all that she's giving?
There is a give and take in a loving relationship...
whatever the excuse is...
his past...her past....etc..
but I have always believe that when we love someone...
we will not be willing to see the one we love suffer?

I guess one day she might look back and realise that
she is just a shadow....
to this man....
a doormat that he can push anywhere he wants...
and that she has not done anything significant for herself..
that she has not even once put herself first....
and that he might get tired of someone like that....

But who am i to say anything right?
Maybe she is taught to do that when she was young...
Maybe her religion taught her that....
we'll never know...

Do we become blind when we are in love?
or Do we choose to be blind when we are in love?
It's our choice i guess...
Love definitely is not blind...

1 Utama, MPH and Borders...

Last Saturday we happened to be free
and it seemed that that would be Chin's
final free Saturday for this month...

So we decided to go to KL...1 Utama to be specific...
I wanted to browse for dance sneakers....maybe i can find it there...
but most of all it is for the book shops...
Pay Less Book shop...
but unfortunately Pay Less is no longer operating in 1 U.
So instead, we went to MPH to browse....
I found children books by Mary Pope Osborn...
one that Baby loves to read and there was a 25%
discount for MPH members...
so i bought 5 for her.

Then, we just went window shopping and eating...
yesh...eating.....and eating....
gosh...it's a no wonder that i am still very much fat
after all the exercises i di weekly...
hmmmm....

Anyway....we went to the Curve for Borders after that....
mainly for Borders...
I love Borders because of the systematic way they organise their
books and for the huge collection of mystery books there...
i found a new writer which almost has the same quality
as Agatha Christie, though my favourite
is still Agatha C.
But Dorothy L. Sayer is also a good mystery writer
but i discover that Borders does not have a lot
of her Lord Peter Wimsey collection...
But in the meantime....
i still can enjoy the few new mystery writers that
i discover...

Something Funny...

Today...Kak Mazni, Kak Mah and i as usual
were at the centre...before 2 pm...
we were chatting when Ahmad Suhaimi suddenly appeared...
he looked troubled...
wiping his right elbow with his hanky...
he mumbled something when he went up the few steps to the hall...
e couldn't hear him clearly but upon being told that he
fell from his bike,
we unanimously laughed at him...

It was the way he told the story...
he said he was riding along the alley way by Restoran Fatimah
when suddenly a kid appeared out of
nowhere and when he tried to avoid him, he fell off his bike.
The motorbike fell on top of his feet...
A lady ran out of a shop and asked if he was hurt...
but he tried to be appear macho and said no..
but on the way to the centre...
he said it was painful...

Kak Mazni suggested that he went to Klinik Lian for
treatment and said it would cost RM20...
and minus that from his claim...
and it won't be much...

We couldn't stop laughing though....
The whole incident seemed so funny...knowing Suhaimi...
he himself is so funny...

3 days in a flash...

First day of PMR was a hectic day...
I was in Duma as early as 7 am...
and everybody was there already...
I thought i might make some mistakes...
but apparently it was not as bad...
we put all questions in the bags provided and sealed them and
then off to the centres...
Well...
The first paper went on smoothly...
Kak Mazni said i was still very calm and collected
as the head as compared to Baha
during his first time...
Anyway...
I was knida slow in packing and filling in
the forms for the first paper but
after that i managed to complete everything before the paper
ended and it only took us less than 5 mins
to pack everything...
And i was always the first one to reach the post office...
since my centre is the nearest to the post office...
I actually got the hang of it all...
Not bad for a first timer...

Disappointing Outcome..

I had been away from school for 2 days and when
i got back...
Kak T told me a disappointing outcome from
the Head Prefect election...
Hambali was appointed as the new Head Prefect
for the year 2009/2010 and Farouq is his second in command...
That was pretty disappointing because all the teachers'
votes went to Farouq and a majority of the students'
votes went to Hambali...
But there is a reason why the students' votes swung towards Hambali...
The students view Hambali as a Head that is not strict...
one that they can twist around their little finger while
Farouq on the other hand...
does not succumb to playful antiques as easily...
All the teachers forsee a good outcome if Farouq was chosen as the Head...
The disciplinary problems in the school will
be lessen and teachers will not have much trouble...
and the prefectorial board will not
just be a useless board but one
that will move together with the teachers to strengthen
the discipline of the students...
Ahh....
It seemed that the boss wavered in his decision....
his reason was let the majority rules...
making it impossible for the teachers to have any say...
Suffice to say that...
well.....i felt a pang of disappointment ....
for such judgement...
Students' votes should only make up 40% of the whole decision making...
because teachers always know which is the best
for the school...

Rock around the clock...yay...

One, two, three o'clock, four o'clock, rock,
Five, six, seven o'clock, eight o'clock, rock,
Nine, ten, eleven o'clock, twelve o'clock, rock,
We're gonna rock around the clock tonight.

Yay...rocking and dancing the night away....
Chin and I attended the YS Dance Studio anniversary dinner....
on Friday night and we enjoyed ourselves tremendously...

The restaurant was set for dancing...
all the tables were arranged at the side and the middle of the
hall is the dance floor and musics were played
from 6.30 - 12.00 am...
and those whole knew the dance to the song would just
get up and dance on the dance floor...

Well...my table mates and i dance to quite a number of songs
though we only joined the studio for 2 months...
It was fun...fun...fun through and through....

Surprisingly Chin enjoyed himself too....
It is like being transported in time to the 60s he said...
when the rock n' roll songs were played...

My dance instructor, Ah yoke danced throughout the night...
she simply loves dancing...
She loves to tease Auntie Lilian...
who was seated at our table...
because Auntie Lilian loves to see how she shakes her sexy tush...
she does have a really sexy one though...
and she can really shake it in the sexiest way possible...

Auntie Lilian got up to dance the twist with Ah Yoke...
boy...can she twist....
most of the oldie can dance the twist really well...
Cute....
It was an enjoyable social night out....
we'll definitely do it again...

Ah Yoke said she wanted to organise a Christmas party
dance dinner...
I suggested that she does a New Year combined with Christmas
party dance dinner...
that would be smashing...
totally...

Tired week ahead..starting from this week...

I wonder now...
what have i got myself into...
haih...
When Ruslan asked me to replace Sayani as the Head Invigilator...
I agreed simply because he said he
can try to pull out my name from invigilating
the later exam...

I have just came back from a briefing for the Head Invigilators
in PJ which was held from 29/09/09 - 1/10/09.
I still feel very blur...
like i didn't learn anything at all from the briefing...
haih....
and i discovered that it is not an easy task
to do...
What have i got myself into now...
another deep shit...
But Ruslan promised that he would do a detailed briefing for me
tomorrow involving sorting out of all the materials
so i hope that i will be able to handle it...
haih...

On the down side...
i think i have eaten too much during the meeting
at Crystal Crown hotel...
Hah..have to do tonnes and tonnes of dancing it off now...

Festive season...meeting old friends...foood...Kuching...

I never like flying...especially alone....
but i do need to fly frequently as my family lives in the Borneo Island...
so well....though i dislike it so much...
i do have to fly...
i hate the feeling of taking off from land...
the pressure which presses one down...
somehow makes me depress....and dizzy....
and then...there is the rocking sensation or jerky movement
when the plane hits air pockets...
and when the plane makes a turn...
argh...

But what i love most is when it has landed...
My sister picked me up from the airport....
with my nieces and they were so...so...excited to see me...
I was so very excited too...
How i have missed them...

We went visiting since it was the second day of Hari raya
The first house was my sister's friend's house, Sylvia...
oh...we were so full by the time we left...
The cakes, cookies, rendang, masak hitam,
lemang...delicious...

Then the next house was Gma's house...
Food was unthinkable by then...
but out of courtesy...i ate on behalf on them...
Gma's daughter was so adorable...
she was like so friendly with everyone...
Adrina Fitriyah is her name...
and her boy is as handsome as ever....
So fair and he looks so much like G'ma...
I have not seen her for so long...
and it was good to finally see her again even though
only for a while...
I was so happy meeting her that i forgot to take photos...
Aih...

Anyway...two houses were enough...
I was thinking of visiting Zairol but
he didn't answer his phone...
so...we went back home instead...

It was good to be home...meeting love ones...
Home sweet home...
