Saturday saw Chin and i pack our things into
the car to go to KM Chalet in Kuala Linggi
for Chin's school family day...
What is a family day?
Schools in the rural areas here love Family Day
where all the teachers will pack off
their family members for a night stay at a hotel
where they are supposedly to have
fun and games and dinner...
they too are expected to organise
the games and take care of their young
children at the same time and
HAVE FUN...
My question is...when you have
a two month old baby...
how can you have fun?
But i, of course , digress...
Anyway...annual dinner at a good hotel
ballroom is unheard of...
they prefer barbeque dinner
whereby the food is not so excellent...
you get my meaning...?
Back to our trip...
we took the old road...to PD to have late lunch
and then...to Kuala Linggi..
KM Chalet is situated in
a Malay village...
with by the seaside of course...
the beach is yellow sand...like the one
in Esplanade Miri...
and the sea water too, i suspect,
is non too clean...
so, well....
The room or chalet...if you insist... is pretty small...
smaller than a master bedroom in a low cost
terrace house...
you can barely move around...whatever
2 feet left of the space between the wall and the bed
is cramped with make up table, bookshelf for TV
and a place to hang towel...
The bathroom is pretty small...with no sink
and hot shower...
and you wonder how much do they have to pay
for this meagre setting?
RM100 mind you...
it was a true rip off...if i might say so...
and the person incharged of booking
this place did not realise that they were
being given a shoddy deal..
hm...
The dinner wasn't anything to shout about too...
more like to quietly...whispered about...
very usual food...one that you can get from
your school canteen...
and the setting of the hall is more
like attending a kenduri kahwin or
something alike...
haih...and you expect the families to have fun...
Fun my foot....
I couldn't sleep the whole nigh because the pillow
was too hard...i might have sprained my neck...
We had games the next day....
and according to Chin
the teacher in charged of games nearly
cracked her head thinking of fun games
to entertain everyone....
Chin won the 'making up your partner' game...
now...i can look forward to someone
else doing my make up for me
if i so lazy to do it myself....
