28 July - Craziest Treasure Hunt evah 2010

This was the first ever Treasure Hunt by the English Panel in UJ...
Of course there was the Science and Maths race before
but well.....we were excited to do the hunt, Azie and I that is...
Anyway...early in the morning,
James entered my 4 Inovatif - and boy oh boy....
the kids can actually speak in English if they are forced to do so...
i refused to translate anything for them,
so they had to think of ways to ask the questions....
They were eager to talk to james, of course...
that was the main reason.
Anyway....they enjoyed the Q & A session with James.

After that, I went to Kuala Klawang town to buy beans and ribbons
for our treasure hunt in the afternoon.
I planned to print out some of the things that i didn't manage
to print out the night before....but
Murphy's Law seemed to kick in...
There was a black out and the whole town was affected....
Argh....everything went down hill from there...
i simply had to copy all the tasks into 12 copies
by writing them down...
And James, thank God for James, he came up with
4 cyphers that i only chose 2 and he came up with most
of the crazy sentences and the codes...and finally he even produced
on a mahjong paper, the cypher for the code.
I think everything wouldn't have worked out
if James was not there to help...
(He was a God sent, i say)
Anyway...we pulled it through and by two o'clock
we were ready to plant all the clues and the tasks.
But somehow, while briefing the Check Point caretakers,
Azie went very confused....
so we ended up just giving all the clues to them
and let the students looked for them themselves.
ANywho, they would eventually lead from one point to another.

James minded the bean area...he had to mix
3 types of beans and let the students to separate them.
Kak Zu minded the ketupat area...

There were 2 teachers' group and one of them
was Lin's group...
and they cheated outrageously...
Lin hung on to Shidah's group like a leech...
just so they wouldn't lose sight of each other.
And i heard that she simply tore 3 ketupat made by Shidah
so the group could not complete the task ahead of them.
ROFL.....
Alas...non of her group members knew how to make ketupat...
but lo and behold....she produced a ketupat out of nowhere
and off they went searching for the next CP.
By the time they found me...
Shiddah's group was desperate to break away...
and finally they figured out that the last CP was the Teacher's
apartment...so somehow...
they managed to sneak away quietly
without Lin's group noticing - leech or not - LOL...
When they reach down there, Azie didn't have the heart
to tell them that they had only found 5 CPs....
and yet there were 12 CPS....ahahahaha...
Anyway, Shidah's group won the Teacher's race.

The students, on the other hand, were gasping
for breath by the time they were half way through.
We purposely placed the CPs far from each other....
but the groups from the second session fare better...
they found 11 CPs out of 12...

Participation was overwhelming as there were 25 groups...
including the teacher's group.
And we had to reject a few for their late registration.
But....it was simply crazy....and
in the middle of the huha....
i forgot to take photos of the event...
Haih...sad....there \were so many hilarious moments...
and we didn't manage to freeze them in time....
This is definitely the best activity of all this year....
