By the weirdest of coincidence, we have 3 Wongs as neighbours. Next door on the left side is a Wong, next door to this Wong, which is a corner house, is another Wong and then the opposite house on the left side, which is another corner house, is the 3rd Wong.
I always have known a lot of Wongs before but i never knew that my neighbours would be Wongs too. The principal and 1st senior assisstant in St Co are Wongs....then the head prefects for boys and girls too were Wongs....and many other Wongs....now we live next door to Wongs...how ironic....not that i have anything against the Wongs...for my surname Bong, is a variation of Wong actually.
So, let's get to know the Wongs. How do we differentiate the Wongs in our daily conversation and of course for the Wongs not to confuse themselves at the same time.
My immediate neighbour is A Mr Wong from Sibu, Sarawak. He has a young son and his wife will have another child soon...he's an introvert but for he prefers to stay in the house after coming back from work but he's okay. Occasionally, when he does come out, he'll chat with Chin in an amiable way. He works in a furniture factory and he said the furniture are manufactured for export purposes and not to be sold locally. Because of his origin, we call him Sarawak Wong.
Then, the Wong next to Sarawak Wong. A young man who deals with...ermm...i'm not sure...has a son and his wife is quite beautiful....quite alternative rock looking and friendly, though he rarely comes out too...once in a while...when he does, Chin will have a chat with him....due to his look...he is known as Alternative ROck Wong (translated into English) and in Chinese is Yaa Wong.
Lastly, the opposite corner Wong. His wife was Chin's classmate in Secondary school and we first knew about her owning the house was when they were doing the renovation. Their house is very beautiful and the renovation cost about a hundred thousand or more. This is a very helpful and humble couple. We are now fast friends....they have a very cute daughter and now she is not afriad of us anymore. Of course as friends, we call him Akheong but to others he is known as Mr Wong. Among all the Wongs, he is the most good looking and thus he is known as Handsome Wong or in Cantonese Liang Tzai Wong. The couple brought us so many things by far....
Just the other day when we moved in, his wife brought a pack of Ginseng for us. Then, some friends of their just returned from Cameron Highland and gave them some strawberries. So, they sent us some. Then, we went to their house for a chat on Wednesday night, and he doscovered that Chin is an occasional beer consumer, he he gave Chin a bottle of beer from Holand, which according to him and Chin is really smooth. He also discovered that we plan to put big river gravels in our drains and he said he still has a few gunny sacks of gravels left after filling his drains. He said he could sent them over and chin insisted on paying him. On Thursday afternoon, he sent about 4 big bags of the gravels and when Chin wanted to pay him he said it'll cost him a hundred ringgit a bag...he refused to tell its price and refused to accept payment....
Such a good person...God Bless him....
So, tha't the story of our 3 Wongs neighbours and let's hope that we'll be blessed with a lot on 'wongs' too since we are surrounded by the Wongs.
