Moving into new house

Today we move into our new house in Seremban 2. The whole ceremony itself was funny and Chin had never witness such a ceremony before. I at least had seen it when his sister moved into her new house last year.
The thing is the Chinese believes that they have to move in in the morning from 8-11 am and not later than that. So at 9.30 we drove off to the new house in S2. Once we arrive, mother-in-law quickly lit the fire in the earthen stove to be carried into the house. Then, she took the mandarin oranges and threw them into the house....i'm not sure what it means...Kam...or oranges bring a symbolic meaning to the Chinese. Then, she took handfuls of coins mixed with rice and threw them into the house too...everywhere in the living room up to the kitchen.....i really should ask Chin to translate the whole event. Then, she asked Chin to carry the earthen stove into the house while i followed at the back with the wooden bucket filled with rice into the house and put them in the kitchen. Then, the cooking reverie started...seems that once you move in you have to cook for the stove is the heart of the house....or something...that is just the Chinese way of moving into a new house....
The house is still practically brand new...so well...there are a lot of things to do...especially the cleaning part...we had to wipe all the surface exposed and also mopped the floor because it was very dusty....so half the day was cleaning only and at the end of the day...we were tired....very...tired....
