First English class in Kampung Sebir

Last Sunday was our first English class with the
Orang Asli in Kampung Sebir...
A lot of them turned up....
the ladies with their babies in tow....
what a sight....
My first experience having a class with a big difference in age...
We limit it to 13 onwards but some primary school students
joined too...
so we didnt have the heart to turn them away...

We started with some simple questions to gauge their proficiency...
I discover that some totally cannot read
while some are active participants and were excited to take part...

We started with simple Greeting and Introduction lessons...
Quite fun...
but last week was a hectic week...
so we didn't manage to hotostate some
materials...
and the blackboard is quite small..
so we couldn't write the BM translation onto the board...
some oldies found it hard to follow...
well...we'll keep improving our methods...
Of course there will be glitches at the beginning
but i hope eventually we'll get the hang of it..
The students seemed like having fun...
so i hope they'll attend every lesson...
