Stoooooooooooopppppiiiiiidddddddd!!!!!!!!

It was officially announced today that
Maths and science will be taught in BM again...
gradually changing starting from 2012...
I can't believe that the cabinet is making a decision based on a less
than 10 years project....
It proves to be true then that Malaysian...especially its government
always do stuff without much deliberation....
Like so many other issues that preceded this issue...
which were also handled in such a manner...
It takes at least 20 years for the fruit of your hardwork
to finally show some good result....
and a policy to be evaluated for its effectiveness...
But ETeMS has not even reached its 10th anniversary...
it is being scrape off...
There are many things that will be totally wasted apart from
the teachers' effort..
1. the money spend on
a. software - millions of ringgit were paid to software companies to
write the teaching softwares
b. hardware - the laptops, backup power trolleys, white screen etc.
for the schools
c. the money spent on training the teachers

And these are only the few things that take up millions of ringgit
not counting the effort put in by all the people involved...
Typical short sighted people that call themselves the
government...
They are not encouraging the Malaysian children to learn
a foreign language...
and who will suffer at the end of the day?
Of course the future generation who cannot even speak
good English to get themselves a job....
I guess....some people might as well make money out of this situation....
When undergraduates cannot write their thesis in
English....they will
look for the English optionists in Uni to translate
for them...
and of course...may they be brilliant enough to charge
expensively for such services....

Anyway...on a serious note....
It is not a matter of putting BM second fiddle...
but it is a matter of moving forward to face the new millennium...
the globalised world that the government itself talks so much
about...
Judging from the childen that i am currently teaching...
which i feel filling up at least 70 % of the Malaysian youth...
they will be left way...way behind...
When all the urban area kids are moving ahead...
these are the ones who will be left behind...not knowing
what is happening...
Such is the scenario that is not foresee by these people...
