I have not been online for 4 days as i was
busy with a lot of work....
so now is the time for updates...
Inspectorate by the Jemaah Nazir from N9
On Monday, my school had the mentor and mentee event
until 9 am...
after the assembly...we discovered that there was an inspection done
by the Jemaah Nazir...
and it was for 3 panels...
Geo, History and English...
The inspector for the English panel looked through the files
and also observed 3 teachers...
he had positive comments for the teachers observed but
what i was not satisfied was that he made a rather
nonsensical comment for my lesson...
one that i STRONGLY feel irrelevant
and that he was saying it just for the sake of saying something...
i used LCD and power point slides for my teaching
and i volunteered to be observed...
he commented that my teaching was excellent and hhighly
motivating but then he started to
comment on THE LOTUS EATER and relating it to religion....
I am sensitive enough to be aware that i am teaching
students with different religions and beliefs...
so i won't thread on that sensitive issues...
he discussed at length the story of
THE LOTUS EATER which i think is
INAPPROPRIATE as we teachers are asked to
teach that text...
regardless of it's values etc...
To me...he is there to comment on the teaching of the teachers...
and the teachers teach the values contained in the text
according to references given to us...
Hello....please get that straight...
i know what i am doing when i am in the classroom...
and yes...you don't have to apologise for being
the follower of any religion....
we are mostly after all.....
follow that religion that we are born into...
What is UTMOST important is the universal values taught by
these religions...
so i just CONSIDERED his comment IRRELEVANT
and deleted it from my mind...
i don't think he knew what he's saying....
Anyway...i want to gossip in my own local Malay dialect...

nya ngaja la...
Kak Ola talipaun la anu tok...madah ngannya...
sik lamak kak ya...lalu nya kol kamek...
madah nya meri nemiak test....sik dapat la nazir observe nya...
so...tukar la tek...sik hal la ya...
tapi hari sigik ya...nya kena observe Sejarah....
kamek rasa la...nya tok di padah nazir sej ya teror
ngajar....sebab nya ada abm la....
byk keja kumpula la....
ya la kamek ngan Bed polah ketupat la lekak ya...
madah nya sengaja meri alasan sik maok last minit di observe...
dah ya maok tunjuk pandei...pegi polah abm...mun org lain tek
sik la ku lalek gilak....
tapi si anu tok nang kaki kipas bah...
haih....dah memang org tuk kedak ya....
mulut pandei kelakar macam2...
tapi molah nya ya...
sikda...ibuh jak harap...
so...that's it....the nazir left on tuesday...just sat in and listened to the comments...
and well...why did you come in February when
the school is so hectic with sports etc...
