What becomes of the young....

I remember when i was in St Co, we teachers
used to compare students of different years and it seemed
that the seniors always fared better in everything...
academically and socially...

they are better in behaviour and academic....
it seems that in my school now...
the scenario is still the same...

I came to the school in 2007 and i managed to form a debate team
which was very independent and critical thinker...
They would ask the whys and the hows and the whats
and the wheres....
they were able to be independent thinker...
and of course most importantly....able
to do research and write their own script...
Even though the grammar is not excellent...
but for a rural school....
they went state level...
and a first for the school too...

After that year...everything went down hill...
my team last year waited to be spoon fed.....every single word...
every single argument...
and my ex-debater who trained them
was the one who suffered from frustration the most...

well...this year...i do not know what to expect...
Only this morning i blew my top when one of my form 4 boys
refused to present his role play script with a fren...
the class is not naughty....nope...
they are actually a good class....
attitude wise...
but i didn't know what had gotten into this boy...
he refused to budge from his seat and
refused to look at me either...
That got me boiling...
Hah...my students know that i'm a cool customer.....
i only let it lose when i am very very angry...
i heard from my colleague that the form 4 now is pretty different
from the form 5 batch now...
4 Science for instance....
very blur....always daydreaming....
and waiting for the teacher to initiate everything...
That is not good...
definitely not good...
anyway...
on a brighter note....
i get a good deal....and i intend to push them further...
